Research On Innovative Design Based On Visual Symbol Features Of Dongba Hieroglyph

The Jinsha River Basin at the junction of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau,gave birth to Dongba script which is the precious world cultural heritage.Dongba hieroglyph is a language used by the Naxi minority in our country.It has distinctive ethnic cultural characteristics.And it is unique because of its special visual symbol shape and special cultural environment as the only pictograph which is still in use in the world.Dongba hieroglyph has distinctive aesthetic value and cultural value.Moreover,as a pictograph with strong graphic symbols,it has the same visual interest as painting in its simple and unique visual form.As a text used in production activities,its creation contains rich wisdom and is a splendid cultural treasure nurtured in the multicultural environment of our country.Under the background that cultural self-confidence and ethnic aesthetic self-confidence are continuously strengthened and the integration of ethnic culture into design has become the trend of modern design development.This paper aims to explore the visual symbol characteristics and character creation rules of Naxi pictographs by in-depth research on the external visual symbol characteristics of Naxi Dongba characters.Under the guidance of semiotic theory,it will explore the cultural wisdom behind Dongba characters.With the cultural connotation,the Dongba hieroglyph is redesigned,creative expression and innovative application is carried out.Through the intervention of innovative design and the integration of modern design concepts,various spaces for the visual expression of Dongba hieroglyph and more possibilities for creative expression have been opened,providing more space for the inheritance and development of Dongba hieroglyph in the future.
