An Investigation On The Use Of Export-oriented Chinese Electronic Dictionaries

The international community’s attention to China and the improvement of China’s comprehensive national strength have driven the "Chinese language craze" to heat up.More and more non-native Chinese speakers have joined the upsurge of learning Chinese,which has led to a huge demand for Chinese dictionaries and driven the domestic and foreign scholars study foreign-oriented Chinese dictionaries.The development of modern information technology and computer technology provides technical support for the digitization of dictionaries,and the transformation of international Chinese education accelerates the electronic dictionary process.But at present,the research and development of foreign-oriented Chinese electronic dictionaries in our country are still in the initial stage of exploration.The popular foreign-Chinese electronic dictionaries on the market are mixed,and there are various problems.In order to understand the current situation of foreign-oriented Chinese dictionaries and promote the research of foreign-Chinese electronic dictionaries,this thesis conducted a questionnaire survey on the foreign students of Chongqing Jiaotong University,Chongqing University of Technology,Tongji University,Institute Confucius De L’Universite D’Abpmey-Calavi,and Lao National University,to collect and analyze the use of foreign Chinese dictionaries.The survey found that,in view of the shortage of thesis dictionaries and the advantages of electronic dictionaries,the usage rate of foreign Chinese electronic dictionaries is higher than that of thesis dictionaries,and the top three most frequently used electronic dictionaries are Pleco,Hanping lite,Google Translate are deficient in annotation,interpretation,illustration,etc.Based on the demand analysis of learners’ foreign-Chinese electronic dictionary and the comparative analysis of electronic dictionaries,this thesis puts forward optimization suggestions for the design of foreign-Chinese electronic dictionary from function and content.In terms of functions,design a variety of dictionary languages,improve the accuracy and fluency of pronunciation,set up multiple retrieval methods and input methods,provide practice functions and vocabulary card functions,set up theme sections for word classification learning,improve feedback functions,update and upgrade timely.In terms of content,the graded dictionary design is carried out based on the "Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Language Education",and suggestions are made for interpretations and example sentences: in order to ensure the accuracy of interpretations,add the language flow and phonetic changes and mark tone colors,mark parts of speech with unified names,symbols and form,arrange the meaning items according to the frequency of use and provide sub-item example sentences,improve the diversity of sample forms,improve the richness and practicability,reduce the difficulty of interpreting language,add pragmatic information as a supplement definition.
