| With the development of Chinese audio-visual classes, different kinds of audio-visual materials have been published in the market.Audio-visual materials combine technology and video materials to work out learners’ listening and speaking skills.Compared with traditional teaching materials, these materials have more fresh blood, and to a certain extent, they make the single boring classroom become interesting and active. It is understood that the quality of published Chinese audio-visual teaching materials varies, and the relevant research is also somewhat stagnant, and there is a relative lack of writing and comparative research on audio-visual teaching materials.Based on this, this study takes the evaluation theory of Chinese language teaching materials as the theoretical basis, combined with other related theories, and selects China City Card and China Focus as the research objects, and comprehensively examines and compares their textual materials and video materials.Among them, the textual materials are explored in terms of their layout style, vocabulary, exercises, and culture, while the video materials are examined and compared in terms of video types, topics, language, and usage. In addition, interviews are conducted with the editors and teachers of this two sets of teaching materials, and questionnaires are administered to Chinese language learners and teachers. The results of the analysis of all aspects are combined to make subsequent suggestions for the relevance of the textbook development. After the analysis of this study,we can see that the two sets of teaching materials have distinctive features and their respective strengths and weaknesses. The selection of materials for China City Card is relatively outdated, and the video usage is not as good as that of China Focus. However, its textbook structure is reasonable, beautiful and generous, the vocabulary arrangement is comprehensive, the number of practice questions is moderate, and the types of questions are diverse; As an emerging textbook published in recent years,China Focus has rich vocabulary content, flexible practice, and diverse types of video materials. For Chinese audio-visual and oral textbooks, these are all writing characteristics that are worth learning from.In response to the shortcomings of the two sets of textbooks, this study also proposes targeted improvement strategies in terms of layout, vocabulary, exercises, culture and video materials, and puts forward suggestions for Chinese audio-visual materials in terms of "colouring and characterising the external style, setting up pre-class introductory content in the internal style, standardising and balancing vocabulary, moderating and hierarchising exercises, diversifying the types of video materials and standardising language".We hope that we can make a small contribution to the development of Chinese audio-visual materials. |
