Since modern times,the increasing national crisis and the people’s disregard for the country under the existing education system have made people of insight gradually realize that in order to save the perilous situation and achieve national salvation,it is necessary to carry out an education to arouse the people,and popular education came into being.People’s schools,one of the important implementing institutions of people’s education,have become an important pillar for promoting the development of people’s education because of their characteristics of the largest number of operations,the widest scope and the best results of running schools,and it is very necessary for the study of people’s schools.This article mainly explores the development of Henan people’s schools under the rule of the Nanjing Nationalist Government,and the article is mainly divided into seven chapters.The first chapter mainly analyzes the historical background of the development of Henan people’s schools,which is an important measure jointly promoted by the government and public educators in order to change the phenomenon of social turmoil,economic decline and educational backwardness in the province under the background of the national people’s educational trend.Chapter 2 sorts out the development of Henan people’s schools,which have gone through a period of promotion(1928-1930),a heyday(1931-1937),a period of transformation(1938-1945),and a period of decline(1946-1949).Chapter 3 discusses the spatial and temporal distribution of people’s schools,which are influenced by the social environment,social economy and those in power,and the development of people’s schools in time and stop,prosperity and decline,and the distribution of developed north,east and central and backward in west and south in space.Chapter 4 discusses the internal operation of people’s schools,including funding sources and expenditures,teacher selection and treatment,student status and grade establishment,teaching courses and teaching content,study period and graduation destination.Chapter 5discusses the effectiveness and characteristics of people’s schools,and Henan has eliminated some illiteracy through the opening of people’s schools,improved social atmosphere,promoted rural autonomy and strengthened the anti-war forces.At the same time,compared with neighboring provinces,Henan People’s School has the characteristics of late start,slow development,strong local political color,and emphasis on military training.Chapter 6 summarizes the problems of running people’s schools,and in the process of development of Henan people’s schools,there are problems in running schools,such as funding,teachers and teaching,enrollment and retention,etc.,which affect the development of people’s schools.Chapter 7reflects on the running of Henan people’s schools,and concludes that the development of people’s education requires the establishment of sound policies,the selection of excellent implementers and supervisors,and the development based on the needs of the people.Through the overall exploration of Henan people’s schools,we can see that the central government and local governments mutually restrict the development of Chinese people’s schools,and the development of private schools when the needs of the government and the needs of the people contradict each other,so as to conclude that the development of people’s schools is affected by politics,economy,society,talents and other aspects.
