Jane Campion, not only the first female director to win the Golden Palm in Cannes’ history, but also the first female director to be nominated for Best Director at the Oscar twice, occupies an important position in film history.Although her films are not prolific, each time a new work appears,it will trigger corresponding discussions and promote more feminist films and feminist directors to receive attention and recognition from everyone. She fully draws nourishment from her own family and personal experience, utilizes women’s sensitivity and insight into things, and uses delicate techniques to show her deep care for women’s survival difficulties and emotional states. At the same time,in terms of film style, she is also extremely charismatic. The main research object of this article is Jane Campion’s films, which are divided into four parts. The first part starts from the director himself, exploring the reasons for her film production from aspects such as her family growth environment, the era background, and in this process, exploring her film characteristics. The second part mainly analyzes the connotation of its film.By combining all current film texts, this article explores the core appeal that Jane Campion intends to express in the film from two aspects: her care for difficulties, her exploration of the path of growth, and the reconstruction of gender order. The third part mainly explores the narrative characteristics of Jane Campion’s films. This paper explores the narrative of Jane Campion’s films from three aspects: the feminist choice of narrative perspective, the multi hybrid narrative structure, and the poetic presentation of narrative time and space. The fourth part mainly starts from the form and style of the film, exploring how she utilizes various elements in these systems to build a holistic film and ultimately showcase her personality and style.
