| The information that physics provides us about the natural world is entirely concerned with its mathematical causal structure, which allows us to manipulate nature in a variety of extraordinary ways.At the ontological level, physicalism has developed a standard position, one that holds that the world is physical and that mental phenomena are attached to or grounded in physical phenomena. But physicalism still seems to have difficulty explaining the phenomenal character of consciousness, which is often referred to as the hard problem of consciousness. In dealing with this problem, neutral monism seems to offer a solution,a view that recognizes that the properties of consciousness,or what constitutes them, are real and have the same status as physical properties.By taking the properties of consciousness as the basis for the category of physical properties and thus integrating consciousness into the natural order, neutral monism has had an important influence on contemporary physicalism and panpsychism, especially since the recent revival of panpsychism has led to a renewed interest in the traditional version of neutral monism and its subsequent development, and neutral monism is likely to be an option again for exploring the metaphysics of mind. This paper will explore both materialistic and panpsychistic versions of Russell’s monism and criticisms of them. The various versions of neutral monism that are currently in vogue differ significantly from traditional neutral monism, but even the most refined and promising version of Russell’s neutral monism currently faces significant challenges. This paper attempts to analyze, among the various versions of Russell’s neutral monism, the contemporary version of Russell’s monism is very useful for resolving the philosophical consciousness of mind into nature. This paper tries to explore the materialistic and panpsychistic versions of Russell’s neutral monism, which shows that Russell’s monism has unique ideas for resolving the dilemma of dualism and the dilemma of physicalism, but still faces serious problems, such as For example, the interrogation of the combination problem, etc. |
