As a great poet of Song poetry,Wang Anshi played a key role in breaking through the shackles of Tang poetry and creating a new sound for Song poetry, which to a certain extent made the "Song tone" independent of the "Tang sound".However,in the special poetic context of the Ming Dynasty, the Ming’s evaluation of Wang Anshi’s poetry took on new characteristics. From the current academic research results, the study of the intergenerational acceptance of Wang Anshi’s poetry only covers the Song and Qing dynasties, and the study of the acceptance of the Ming dynasty is lacking. This paper takes the acceptance of Wang Anshi’s poetry in the Ming Dynasty as a research perspective, and explores his acceptance in the Ming Dynasty from three aspects: Song poetry anthologies,Ming poetic discourse and Ming prose, respectively,to help people nowadays understand Wang Anshi more comprehensively in the context of Ming poetics. On the compilation of Wang Anshi’s poetry in anthologies of Song poetry of the Ming dynasty,This paper first gives a brief overview of the content, anonymity, and editorial characteristics of the Ming Dynasty Song poetry anthologies as a whole. This is followed by an exploration of the characteristics of the two currently available anthologies of Song poetry,Li Gun’s Song Yi Pu Ji and Cao Xuequan’s Shi Cang Song Poetry, from both the genre and the subject matter of the selected poems. It is found that both anthologies favor Wang Anshi’s recent and leisurely poems, which are influenced by the development trend of Song poetry anthologies of the Ming Dynasty,Wang Anshi’s creative reality, the poetic thought and life experience of the editors, and other factors. In addition, compared to Li Gun’s Song Yipu Ji,Cao Xuequan’s Shi Cang Song Poetry Selection places less emphasis on Wang Anshi’s poetry.Regarding the evaluation of Wang Anshi’s poetry in Ming Dynasty poetic discourse, this paper roughly divides it into four categories: poetic origins, artistic techniques, poetic criticism, and the creation of set poems, among which artistic techniques include refining words, couplets, and allusions, and poetic criticism includes poetic style, poetic style, and content. On the whole,Ming poetic discourse was rich in commentary on Wang Anshi’s poetry, which was more derogatory than positive, partly because most Ming people were prejudiced against Song poetry, and partly because Wang Anshi’s political changes and academic ideas also caused extreme discontent among Ming people.Regarding the view of Wang Anshi’s poetry in Ming Dynasty prose,This paper first analyzes two perspectives, namely, the references to Wang Anshi’s poetry in preface notes and the evaluation of Wang Anshi’s poetry in preface notes, and then compares the content of Wang’s poetry in Ming Dynasty prose and poetic discourse, and the different attitudes of Ming Dynasty prose toward Wang Anshi’s poetry, finding that Ming Dynasty preface notes explore Wang Anshi’s poetry from a lesser perspective and depth than poetic discourse, and that Ming Dynasty preface notes focus more on Wang Anshi’s writing than his poetry.Studying the reception of Wang Anshi’s poetry in the Ming Dynasty can supplement the research on the intergenerational reception of Wang Anshi’s poetry, and can also reveal the poetic style of the Ming literary world through the Ming people’s attitude toward Wang Anshi’s poetry. |
