Wang Dasu was one of the people who carried the tripod in Yili literary circle under the leadership of General Baoning during the Qianjia period. His book Record of the Western Expedition was the earliest work that recorded the information heard in the Western regions from the perspective of a garrison officer in the Qing Dynasty.Taking this as the starting point, this thesis studies the origin, background, content and characteristics of geography and identity writing in Wang Dasu’s West Zhenglu,in order to discover the relationship among the literary creation, geography and identity of the garrison in the Western regions in Qing Dynasty. The thesis consists of four parts:The first chapter examines the reasons and background of geographical writing and identity writing in Wang Dasu’s West Zhenglu, and sorts out the version of West Zhenglu.Wang Dasu was relegated to Yili in the 533 rd year of Qianlong(1788),and under the recognition of General Bao Ning became a tenon in the literary circle of Yili, leaving a large number of poetry and prose works.Relegation to Yili was the trigger for her to go to the Western Regions and change her identity.Through raking and thinning historical materials and related works,we can see that Wang was relegated because he adhered to moral integrity, did not join hands with the elites, and wrote to promote the interests of the people. It is another reason to write geography and identity in Wang Dasu’s West Zhenglu to be inspired by the geography of the way and to express lyric needs of the garrison in order to meet the needs of students.During the period of Wang’s relegation to Yili,it was the heyday of the development of the literary circle of Qianjia. The background of the heyday of the literary circle also laid the foundation for his writing of the geography of the literary circle and the identity of the garrison in Yili. The second chapter analyzes the content of geography and identity in Wang Dasu’s West Zhenglu.According to the spatial dimension,it can be divided into geography and identity writing during the western journey, before and after entering Yili, and on the eastern journey.During her journey to the West,Wang’s geography and identity writing achieved each other, including pessimistic geography and identity breakdown writing, geography healing and identity feedback writing, geography collision and identity selfconsistent writing. Before and after entering Yili,it presents the dynamic historical place of garrison and the old and pessimistic identity writing, the static gathering field and the idle and elegant healthy identity writing. On the way to the east,it is characterized by "cool" geography and "rush to the countryside to make up for the regret".Through literary creation, geography and identity show an interactive process in which geography influences the transformation of identity writing and identity influences the content of geography writing. The third chapter discusses the characteristics of geography and identity writing in Wang Dasu’s West Zhenglu.Under the influence of geographical changes,Wang’s cognition of the Western Regions showed the characteristics of experientialization from perception concept, that is,from passive perception of identity writing to active investigation of geographical writing, internal identity writing to external geographical writing, overcoming the risk of relegation and gaining value recognition.Under the mechanism of responding to objects and feelings, geography and identity writing in "Records of the West" show the interpenetration characteristics of triggering and transforming each other, that is,the triggering mode of feeling as ground touch and ground as feeling memory and the transformation mode of geography into identity writing and identity into geography writing. For the purpose of recording, the writing of geography and identity in Xi Zhenglu presents the narratization characteristics of geographic space and identity perspective, namely horizontal spatial geography narrative, vertical time geography narrative and blank geography narrative, and the three identity narrative perspectives of "perception","concept" and interest. The fourth chapter analyzes the historical and geographical documents and dissemination value of the Record of the West Zhengzheng from the perspective of identity.Under different identity and vision,Wang Dashu pays attention to different things with different emphasis, which is mainly embodied in the folk customs records of the Western regions from the perspective of the broken people, the legends of the ethnic minorities in the Western Regions from the perspective of the strangers, the Western Regions from the perspective of the lying tourists, the literary circles of the Ili people from the perspective of the Yili and the contribution of the "Empty Valley" to the literary and art views of the Western Regions in the Qing Dynasty, which can also be seen as the historical and local document value of the Record of the Western Zheng.Under the different identity vision,Wang also has the corresponding communication consciousness and communication behavior, such as the scholars’ awareness of history and record rare materials communication behavior, the soldiers’ awareness of praise and practical writing communication behavior, the literati’s awareness of feelings and a variety of communication behavior. In addition, the dissemination of "West Zhenglu" also presents the contradiction between the scholars’ active dissemination consciousness and the soldiers’ passive dissemination process. From the perspective of the dissemination significance,"West Zhenglu" has the positive significance of document dissemination and emotional dissemination, which enables the documenteers to look through the museums and make the poor ones feel the emotions.
