The Record to Jingkang period also called"the record to Xiao ci yuan sheng Emperor ,it's writer is Wang Zao who lived in the middle of Song period. The Record to Jingkang period is Chronological history book, from the perspective of Historical Philology,the book has its unique aspects. First, in terms of genre, although the Record to Jingkang period is the chronological history book, but the main content of it is not narrative, it's the compilation of the Dahir and the Memorial.Second, from the perspective of it's style,the dating of it is emperor period and in the name of it has a"record", so it is the opening of historical style in the Southern Song Dynasty. Again, from the approach of historical date, the Record to Jingkang period insist on not adding ,no cutback, no argument, which in order to preserve the fact of history.The Record to Jingkang period contains all government affairs of the Qin emperor. It is an essential first-hand information to study the political situation of that time .The performance of its historical value as follows: First, the Dahir and the Memorial is numerous.This section covers removal of official worship, relations between peace and war, and the dispute between Hui emperor and Qin emperor; Second, the book records the dispute between the new scholarship and the old scholarship, from which we can see partisan clues in that time; Third, the Record to Jingkang period contains a lot of historical data only, which you can explore the relationship between Yang Shi and Chuas family, further proving that the scholarship dispute is under partisan , the Record to Jingkang period collected all the Yubi during Qin emperor period ,it is precious historical data to study the Qin emperor's Yubi practices.From the Record to Jingkang period's compilation we can see Wang zao's historical thought.First of all, Wang Zao want to complish the book objectively,which was very precious in that time.Further more,Wang Zao insisted on no adding ,no cutback and no arguement in dealing with historical data ,in this way,it can preserve the historical originality,which is the value of the book.However,Wang zao didn't distinguish the historical data closely,which resulted in a number of drawbacks, this should be a warning to us. Again, although Wang Zao is a upright historian, but he can not transcend the historical context, The Record to Jingkang period permeates loyalty to Song period and looking down to Jin people.This is the result of historical limitations.
