The source text is taken from Behavioral Science in the Wild written by well-known behavioral scientists Nina Maar and Dilip Soman, and published by the Rotman University of Toronto Press on May 15,2022.Based on behavioral sciences and psychological knowledge,Behavioral Science in the Wild explores and examines the significant impact of the intervention on human behavior and psychology. There are a series of unique behavioral intervention programs and intervention studies in the book,so as to enable readers to intuitively perceive the intervention’s effectiveness and increase their comprehension of behavioral sciences. This report focuses on Chapters Three to Seven of Behavioral Science in the Wild, where there are various long and complicated sentences with a great number of postpositive attributives. Therefore, under the guidance of Skopos Theory, the report conducts case analysis on four major types of postpositive attributives, that is adjective phrases,non-finite verbs, prepositional phrases and attributive clauses,to explore the strategies of Chinese translation of postpositive attributives. In this way,the translation quality of the report will be improved and it will also provide a better basis for the translation of postpositive attributives in the text of similar genres. This report is divided into five chapters.Chapter one introduces the source text and the significance of the report;chapter two describes the translation process, including preparation before translation,while-translation,and post-translation modification;chapter three explains the theoretical framework and its applicability;chapter four is the case analysis, which focuses on the translation strategies of four kinds of postpositive attributives with specific examples under the guidance of Skopos Theory, and chapter five summarizes the major findings and limitations of the report.
