In the age of information explosion, the general public receives more information every day than ever before, and this information is mainly provided to the public in the form of text, images, video and audio.A large amount of complicated data and information is flooded in people’s daily life, but the fast consuming society requires people to get effective information quickly in a short time.Applying narrative storytelling information visualization design expression can undoubtedly increase users’ reading interest from the perspective of visual design logic and content tension, and enhance the attractiveness of visualization and the effectiveness of information communication. There have been many practical applications of introducing image narrative theory into visualization design, but most theoretical studies have focused on the analysis of design ideas of individual visualization works and big data technology, and there is no complete reusable process for how to design an information visualization work with narrative storytelling. In 2015,the State Council promulgated the Action Plan for Promoting Big Data Development to meet the then-urgent demand for promoting the big data industry, and emphasized the need to accelerate the construction of an open and shared system for government data, covering information from a variety of fields such as industry and services. After the government’s data transformation, these industrial data were made public on the corresponding online open platform and continued to be organized in the annual report of the physical industry. The total number of books published in China each year is huge, but so far there is no systematic analysis process to decipher the story behind the data.In Zhejiang Province, for example, the only more complete description of the publishing situation is the publishing industry report and some chapters in the Zhejiang Yearbook, and there is no other form of presentation. The publication industry analysis report and the local yearbook are usually text-based,supplemented by numerical tables, with a lot of content and strong professionalism, which is not conducive to public dissemination.Firm cultural confidence is a fundamental issue related to the rise and fall of national destiny, cultural security and national spiritual independence.Book publishing is the main site of cultural media storage and cultural communication activities, and behind the publishing data lies multi-dimensional information on people’s spirit, economic environment and policies.Visualization technology can convert boring structured publishing data into easy-to-read and interesting visual images, which is a good way to interpret the development story of the communication publishing industry.Based on theories related to information visualization design, image narrative and human perception and cognition, this study investigates the inner logic of information visualization design from data information into narrative visualization stories, and sorts out the application research related to narrative visualization. This paper focuses on the design strategy of narrative information visualization, and explores the reusable design methods and strategies of information visualization design under the image narrative perspective by deeply analyzing the visualization design process with complete logic and narrative storytelling,so as to provide reference and ideas for information visualization design projects that focus on information expression continuity and storytelling. Finally, the design strategy is applied to the theme of "Zhejiang Publishing" for design practice, using multi-media multi-threaded narrative to interpret and present the development of Zhejiang publishing industry and the cultural heritage behind, and to verify the feasibility of the design strategy.
