Characterization And Interpretation Of Sister Xianglin In Pipa Concerto Blessing

Pipa has wandered for more than 2,000 years in the long history.During the thousands of years of inheritance,expansion and development,Pipa has become a representative and expressive plucked instrument among Chinese national musical instruments,and is known as the king of national musical instruments.Pipa has a mellow and bright tone,a wide range,rich playing skills and unique artistic charm.The traditional repertoire of pipa is rich and colorful,which can not only show the majestic momentum of hand-to-hand combat on the battlefield;It can also show the tranquility of the sunset and returning to the boat on the river;It can also show the taste of noble and refined literati who advocate integrity,so the ancient pipa music is also known as the living fossil of national music,which has lasted for a long time and is still widely circulated today.In the new era,China’s music creation has entered a diversified development stage,and composers have also explored the integration of western composition techniques into the creation of national instrumental music,which has also made the pipa glow with new vitality and outstanding works emerge one after another.The Pipa Concerto Blessing was created during this period.The Pipa Concerto "Blessing" was created by Mr.Zhao Jiping with the theme of Lu Xun’s literary novel "Blessing" and the music material of Qin opera "Sacrificing the Spirit".Mr.Lu Xun used words to shape the characters of Xianglinsao in a rich,three-dimensional and artistic way,which became an immortal masterpiece in the history of literature.On the basis of studying monographs and analyzing characters’ personalities,Mr.Zhao Jiping portrayed Xianglinsao’s characters vividly and deeply in the form of music.In this pipa work,playing techniques and regional musical elements have played a vital role in shaping Xianglinsao’s characters and role psychology.Based on the analysis of the music material,musical structure,timbre characteristics and playing techniques of Blessing,and combined with my own playing experience,the author tries to explore the application of pipa playing skills in shaping the musical image of characters.
