The goal of modern education is to cultivate more well-rounded talents,and aesthetic education is an integral part to achieve this goal.Children’s painting,as an essential part of children’s aesthetic education,enables children to get a pure aesthetic enjoyment and develop their imagination and creativity by creating their unique image worlds.As a part of Chinese traditional culture,folk painting has a unique artistic beauty.Folk painting with distinctive visual language and meaningful narrative content can enrich the expression contents and patterns of children’s painting as well as inspire its creation and innovation.At the same time,it is helpful to make children feel the charm of traditional Chinese culture and form cultural consciousness.This thesis,firstly,analyzes the emergence and visual language characteristics of children’s painting and folk painting to extract the research conditions for their correlation and traceability and concludes that they are both artistic externalization under the influence of a primitive spirit,as well as an expression of internal emotions in a natural state.Secondly,through the analyses of the visual vocabulary sources,language structures,and semantic expressions of children’s painting and folk painting through work examples,it puts forwards that the visual language of the two paintings has similarities and differences.The analysis of visual grammar focuses on three aspects: color system,modeling performance,and spatial order.Finally,based on their similarities and differences,this thesis reveals the enlightenment of the visual language of folk painting on children’s painting creation.It demonstrates that the intervention and instruction in the process of children’s painting with folk painting’s feature may rebuild the inherent formal structure of children’s painting.What’s more,it proposes some strategies on how to accurately refine the artistic elements of national traditional culture,as well as how to integrate them into the specific creation of children’s painting,which strengthen the edutainment function of children’s painting and highlight the positive influence of folk painting and national culture on children.The absorption of folk painting’s visual language feature brings new aesthetic styles and different creation elements in children’s painting and allows children to experience the beauty of folk art from varies perspectives and levels and enhance their national cultural awareness.This study will be of certain significance to help with providing a different perspective to the research of art education.
