Study On The Thoughts Of Foster’s Ecological Marxism

The relationship between man and nature is a common topic.From the perspective of all mankind,man is a part of nature.The two are in harmony and symbiotic relationship.In capitalist society,the blind exploitation of nature by producers has led to endless ecological and environmental problems.In addition,the ecological protection movement in the 1960 s and 1970 s intensified worldwide.In this context,Western Marxists tried to use Marxist views and methods to solve the contradiction between the development of productive forces and the ecological environment in capitalist society.Ecological Marxism has answered the major practical problems about the ecological environment,greatly influenced the left-wing ecological movement in the West,and effectively promoted the attention and research of contemporary foreign Marxist schools on objective reality.Ecological Marxists,such as Ben Agger,William Leiss and John Bellamy Foster,acknowledge Marx ’s ecological thought to varying degrees,analyze the background,causes and manifestations of ecological problems from different perspectives and propose solutions.As an ’ important figure ’ of ecological Marxism,John Bellamy Foster was the first person to put forward the concept of ’ Marx ’s ecology ’.He tried to excavate and construct Marx ’s ecological thought,and developed Marx ’s ecological materialism based on Marx ’s ecological thought.Deep multi-angle mining of Marx ’s theory of material transformation cracks or metabolic fracture theory reveals the alienation of man and nature under the capitalist system,and starts from the aspects of capital accumulation to carry out ecological criticism of capitalism.In order to achieve the sustainable development of socialism,the solution path of ecological crisis is put forward,that is,ecological revolution and the concept of future socialist social construction.This thesis attempts to objectively,fairly and comprehensively evaluate Foster ’s ecological Marxist thought,does not deliberately cover up its limitations,and strives to make the truth it contains more dazzling,and expounds the enlightenment significance of Foster ’s ecological Marxist thought to the construction of ecological civilization in China.
