In recent years,China’s marine shipbuilding industry has developed rapidly and has now become one of the most important shipbuilding centers in the world.Meanwhile, the current international situation is complex and ever-changing,and competition among countries has gradually extended from economic, trade, and technological aspects to the cultural level. Therefore, enhancing the cultural confidence of our nation has become an important task.Documentary films are an essential way to learn about a country’s history and culture.Based on this, the author has chosen the documentary "Ships of China" as the material for simulated consecutive interpretation practice. This documentary tells the development history of China’s shipbuilding industry from ancient times to the present, and is of great significance in popularizing the history and application technology of Chinese ships, showcasing the strength of a great nation, and enhancing our national confidence. After this practice, the following findings are concluded.First, disfluent output mainly includes pause, repetition and self-repair.Second,combined with the practical materials, the interpreter found that the main reasons for the above problems are due to the high information density and unclear logical structure of the original language and insufficient extra-linguistic knowledge reserves of the interpreters. In response to these issues, the interpreter used a combination of literal translation and explanation, free translation, summarizing information, adjusting sentence structure, reorganizing logic, and appropriately adding information as interpreting strategies to complete this interpreting task. After the translation,an overall analysis and evaluation was conducted and this report was written based on the recorded materials of the practice process. This practice has enhanced the interpreter’s understanding of the issue of non-fluent language output in oral interpretation, and the interpreter has identified specific causes and proposed corresponding solutions, providing a reference for future interpretation studies.
