The "construction chunk" theory has always been a popular research direction in Chinese as a foreign language since it was proposed.Scholars Su Danjie and Lu Jianming have made some achievements in their theoretical exploration and the application of existential sentences and concurrent sentences in Chinese as a foreign language.Other scholars have also made some research in other syntactic sentence patterns in Chinese as a foreign language,but their application in the teaching of can wish verb sentences remains to be explored,This is not only because the content of Chinese as a foreign language is extensive,and the introduction of new theories is difficult to cover all aspects,but also can wish that verb sentences are not the traditional research direction of Chinese as a foreign language.From the current situation of Chinese as a foreign language,the teaching of modal verbs in Chinese as a foreign language is often conducted by means of grammar points.This teaching method strengthens the attribute of modal verbs,weakens the semantic relationship between modal verbs and the front and back components,and Chinese learners are prone to missing and adding formatting errors when using modal verb sentences,And such errors can be solved through the chunk chain in the "construction chunk" theory,which can also balance certain Chinese rules to a certain extent in terms of internal semantic configuration,mobilize their existing cognition,and enable students to learn to divide and understand chunks from a semantic perspective.Therefore,with the purpose of exploring new ideas of modal verbs in Chinese as a foreign language,this paper tries to apply the "construction chunk" theory to modal verbs teaching by using statistics and induction.This article first reviews the relevant literature on the theory of "construction chunk" and the theory of "construction chunk",and then summarizes the theory of "construction chunk".Then,from the perspective of sentence components,the noumenon of the sentence is analyzed.Then,the "construction chunk" analysis method is used to analyze the construction of the verb sentence,summarizing the three basic construction meanings of the verb sentence: subjective and objective conjecture meaning,objective necessity meaning,subjective wish meaning,and discussing its internal semantic configuration and block chain respectively.On the basis of statistical analysis of errors in Nengyuan verb sentences in the corpus,some examples of errors are selected to understand and modify from the perspective of "construction chunk".At the end of the article,two teaching designs for the construction of modal verb sentences in Chinese as a foreign language are provided.Based on the ideas of Su Danjie and Lu Jianming,students are guided to understand and master modal verb sentences.After each teaching design,corresponding summaries and reflections are also provided,hoping that the teaching design can be further improved.The research in this paper proves that it is feasible to introduce the "Construction Chunk" theory into the teaching of modal verb sentences as a foreign language.It also emphasizes that the "Construction Chunk" analysis method and the traditional syntactic analysis method are complementary in the Chinese as a foreign language of modal verb sentences.This teaching method can to some extent reduce the omission and addition errors that Chinese learners may encounter when using modal verb sentences.The innovation of this article lies in breaking through the traditional teaching method of Chinese as a foreign language,which mainly uses words to teach modal verbs.It attempts to teach modal verbs at the sentence level,that is,teaching Chinese as a foreign language modal verb sentences.Based on the fact that the research of "Construction Chunk" theory in the teaching of modal verb sentences is still in the blank,this paper also attempts to combine the "Construction Chunk" theory with the teaching of modal verb sentences in Chinese as a foreign language.Taking human common cognition as the starting point,we teach modal verb sentences,teach students to understand the meaning of the whole sentence according to semantic cognitive chunks,and learn to divide modal chunks of modal verb sentences by themselves.
