Study On The Humanization Trend Of The Evolvement Of Mulan Film

In recent years,film adaptation based on traditional IP has become a worldwide film creation boom.In 2020,Disney’s live-action remake of Mulan,starring Liu Yifei,not only provided audiences with unparalleled audio-visual feast,but also set off a cultural boom about the traditional Mulan story once again.After entering the era of mass media,films and television about Mulan have emerged in an endless stream,and the Mulan film has spanned nearly a hundred years of development history.In this long history of development and evolution,the image of Mulan has not only realized the transformation from "hero" to "human",but also the story of Mulan constantly displays new life expression under the effect of media extension.Therefore,it is of great practical significance to study the history of the film of Mulan.Based on this,this paper takes the media evolution theory of Paul Levinson as the research perspective,combs and analyzes the film history of "Mulan" story,explores how the film of Mulan realizes the leap of humanization in the evolution process,and what aspects of the development trend of humanization is reflected in the film,and analyzes the reasons and motivations for the realization of humanization in the film.In order to provide the enlightenment for the future development of Chinese film industry.This paper is divided into seven parts.The introduction part mainly systematically expounds the source of the topic selection,domestic and foreign research overview,research methods and innovations of this paper,and summarizes the research status of the Mulan film in a more comprehensive way,which is the foundation of this research.The second part introduces the theory of media evolution and defines the connotation of "humanization".Firstly,the author expounds and holds Paul Levinson’s theory of media evolution from two aspects: the redeemable principle and the humanization trend of media evolution.Secondly,it defines the concept of "humanization" in the evolution of Mulan’s films.The research holds that "humanization" means affirming human’s subject status and respecting human’s value,and satisfying people’s information and emotional needs.The third part discusses the humanization trend of Mulan film in the film theme level.Whether following the traditional theme of "loyalty and filial piety" or wearing the cloak of "family and country concept",the early Mulan films deeply reflect the core of the story text under the rule of political ethics.Since the 1990 s,gender ethics have been increasingly highlighted in the films about Hua Mulan.As a female,Mulan’s personal emotion,personal value and identity subject began to attract attention.Thus,the theme of Mulan’s films has changed from political ethics to gender ethics,which is one of the important signposts of the humanization of Mulan’s films.The fourth part discusses the humanization trend of Mulan film in the level of film expression.Mulan films show a humanized trend from "experience" to "immersion" in artistic expression.In the process of watching the movie,the audience not only gradually realizes the "presence" experience of sensory balance in the audio-visual dimension,but also develops towards the direction of immersion resonance in the dimension of thought and emotion.This paper analyzes the humanization trend in the evolution of the Mulan films from the two dimensions of audio-visual language and montage techniques,focusing on the picture elements with color,lens and composition as the main body and the sound elements with music,sound and dialogue as the main body.The fifth part explores the motivation of realizing humanization in the evolution of Mulan film.The research mainly discusses from the three aspects of human needs,social trends of thought and technological development,among which the human needs are mainly embodied in the sensory needs of reality and the emotional needs of artistic aesthetics.At the level of social ideological trend,it mainly summarizes the development and evolution of humanism in the West,as well as the aesthetic turn caused by the great discussion of "human nature" before and after China’s reform and opening up.On the technical level,it discusses the humanistic concept contained in media technology under the rational choice and value pursuit of people,that is,media technology tries to realize the sensory pleasure and real experience of people in information exchange.The sixth part discusses the enlightenment which the humanization trend of future research direction.Disney’s film creation on the theme of Mulan provides more thinking for the development of Chinese film art,requiring film creators on the one hand to grasp the delicate balance between the educational function and the entertainment function of the film,on the other hand,to enhance the originality of the film,by trying to explore the common and universal human
