| The English Curriculum Standards for Senior High Schools(2020 revision)points out that the current English teaching should enable students to achieve comprehensive and coordinated development of the core literacy of the four items.Language competence is the basic element of the core literacy of English subject,which plays an important role in promoting cultural awareness,quality of thinking and learning ability.As a significant foundation of language competence,grammar knowledge has a direct impact on the accuracy and appropriateness of language comprehension and expression.Therefore,grammar teaching is of great significance to the cultivation of students’ core literacy of English subject.In order to cultivate students’ grammar awareness and ability,teachers need to design grammar output activities with communicative scenes.Production-oriented Approach(POA)is a foreign language teaching theory with Chinese characteristics,which emphasizes that foreign language teaching should follow the “integration of learning and application” and focus on cultivating students’ language output ability in communicative scenes.In this thesis,the study is applied POA to English grammar teaching in high school,aiming to verify the following two questions:(1)How does the application of POA in high school English grammar teaching influence the academic performance of high school students?(2)How does the application of POA in high school English grammar teaching affect the learning attitude of high school students?Two high school classes with the same level in a high school in Yan’an were taken as the experimental class and the control class respectively to carry out the teaching practice for four months.During the experiment,the experimental class conducted grammar teaching under the guidance of POA theory,while the control class adopted traditional grammar teaching methods.In the whole experiment,grammar test paper,questionnaire,interview outline and classroom observation scale were used to test students’ grammar academic performance and attitude.Finally,SPSS26.0 data processing software was used to compare the experimental changes and draw a conclusion.Research shows that,POA theory has a positive effect on students’ grammar learning.Firstly,students’ grammar scores have been improved;Secondly,students’ attitude towards English grammar has been changed positively.Specifically speaking,the grammar class of POA makes students’ attitude towards grammar study play a positive role in promoting their academic performance,among which the positive emotional experience has the most vital impact on students’ academic performance.Hence,it is effective to apply POA theory to high school English grammar teaching,which provides new enlightenment for improving and upgrading English grammar teaching. |
