Ancient villages are important carriers carrying the excellent history and culture of the Chinese nation,which contain valuable material wealth and cultural connotations.Since 2012,when the Ministry of Housing and Development,the Ministry of Culture,the Ministry of Finance and the State Administration of Cultural Heritage jointly launched the protection of traditional villages,documentaries on the theme of ancient villages have emerged one after another,providing new ways to display,protect and disseminate ancient village culture.The documentary on the theme of ancient villages uses images to present the natural landscape,history and culture,folk customs and customs of ancient villages,reflecting the problems existing in the protection and development of ancient villages,and also deeply thinking about the future development of ancient villages and the fate of individual characters.In recent years,the emergence of documentaries such as Remember Homesickness,Great Village,Chinese Village and Dream Back to the Ancient Village is of great significance in promoting the cultural inheritance and development of ancient villages and calling on the public to consciously protect ancient villages.Under the guidance of semiotic theory and film and television art theory,this thesis systematically sorts out and interprets documentaries related to ancient villages in recent years through case analysis and practical creation,and attempts to explore the construction and expression of indicative meaning,connotation meaning and aesthetic meaning in ancient village documentaries.The first chapter of this thesis defines the concepts of ancient villages,documentaries,and documentaries on the theme of ancient villages,and sorts out the relevant theories used in this thesis.The second chapter explores and summarizes the image,the meaning of video,the construction of video meaning,and the construction value of image meaning from the perspective of the image significance of the documentary on the theme of ancient villages.The third chapter of this article discusses the indicative significance of documentary images on the theme of ancient villages.On the one hand,documentaries on the theme of ancient villages take the ecological concept of harmony and symbiosis as the background of creation,and use a variety of visual language expression methods such as aerial photography,time-lapse shooting,and color composition to present the appearance and development status of ancient villages and complete the construction of indicative meaning.On the other hand,creators usually use diversified narrative methods to select and reorganize the most representative memory media,and cooperate with infectious auditory language to complete the activation and reconstruction of local memory.The fourth chapter of this thesis first analyzes and summarizes the various visible,memorable and actionable symbol types contained in ancient village documentaries as a large image symbol system from the perspective of semiotic theory,and deeply excavates the cultural connotations released by them in combination with specific contexts and themes.In addition,it also discusses how to use montage to create symbolic connotations,and explores the connotative meaning of each semantic element that transcends the narrative itself through column,conflict or accumulation driven by the ideographic motive.The fifth chapter of this article discusses the achievement of aesthetic meaning in documentaries on the theme of ancient villages from the aesthetic level.First,from the perspective of creators,this thesis discusses the creative thinking required by creators to construct aesthetic meaning.Secondly,the artistic conception and aesthetic meaning jointly constructed by the creator and the aesthetic are analyzed and summarized.On the one hand,creators usually use artistic techniques such as virtual and real coexistence,scene blending,and image materialization to create an artistic realm that can be felt and enlightened,achieve the effect of "realm" to achieve "meaning",lead the audience to appreciate the artistic conception of the ancient village.On the other hand,the creators integrate the reality of the ancient village with their imagination,and stimulate the aesthetic emotions of the viewer through the use of metaphors,sounds,and images,and express the cultural significance of the ancient villages.Chapter 6 of this thesis looks forward to the construction of image meaning in documentaries on the theme of ancient villages.In view of the above problems,this thesis deeply considers and looks forward to the construction of the meaning of images in its later creation.
