| As one of the Four Wonderful Books,Jin Ping Mei is an insurmountable peak in the history of Chinese fiction, which has had a profound impact on the narrative art of ancient Chinese realistic novels.Among the many sequels that followed,Ding Yaokang’s Xu Jin Ping Mei was the most famous.Xu Jin Ping Mei continues the clues of the characters in the original book, constructs a new story text with reincarnated characters, and constructs clues of the Song and Jin wars with new historical characters. It displays a broader picture of social life, which has high literary value, but has the drawbacks of strong propaganda color.Later, there were two adaptations of Xu Jin Ping Mei-Ge Lian Hua Ying and Jin Wu Meng, which adapted and rewrote Xu Jin Ping Mei in different ways. This article focuses on Xu Jin Ping Mei,which analyzes its inheritance of the narrative art and character stories in Jin Ping Mei from a longitudinal perspective, and the adaptation of the narrative art and religious writing of Xu Jin Ping Mei in two rewritten versions; In the internal horizontal analysis of the text,it focuses on analyzing the religious content of the preaching and exhortation in Xu Jin Ping Mei,clarifying the literary value of religious factors in the novel. This paper is divided into three chapters:Chapter Ⅰ: Taking Jin Ping Mei as a reference, this paper discusses the continuation and innovation of Xu Jin Ping Mei.The clues of the characters left in Jin Ping Mei provide the possibility of continuation for Xu Jin Ping Mei.Xu Jin Ping Mei mainly inherits the original book from two aspects: character types and narrative art.In terms of character types, the characters in Xu Jin Ping Mei are divided into three major sections, inheriting the techniques used in the original book to portray characters, and allowing some characters to develop in the continuation of the book.In terms of the inheritance of narrative art,Xu Jin Ping Mei mainly inherits the narrative perspective, the narrative mode of karma and the magic writing technique of Jin Ping Mei.The innovative aspects of Xu Jin Ping Mei are mainly reflected in the motif of seeking relatives, historical wars and national sentiments, and the use of simulating vernacular novels.Chapter Ⅱ: Analysis of the religious writing of Xu Jin Ping Mei.Compared to Jin Ping Mei,Xu Jin Ping Mei also contains a large number of religious writings, but the creative intention of preaching and admonishing in the novel is more obvious. These religious writings make the work display a strong color of argumentation and preaching and a strong awareness of sermon, which to some extent affects the artistry of the novel. Therefore,it also affected the literary history status of the book.At the same time, the religious writing in Xu Jin Ping Mei has a literary value in shaping the characters and driving the story forward.Chapter Ⅲ: From the perspective of adaptation motivation, adaptation contrast and religious contrast writing, the author analyzes the two rewritten versions of Xu Jin Ping Mei.In order to avoid the prison of words, the background of war was deleted in Ge Lian Hua Ying, and the adaptation of Jin Wu Meng was to meet the trend of the times. The two adaptations have made different treatment in the aspects of character image, story clue and narrative art, reducing the argumentative and didactic nature, and enhancing the narrative nature. |
