Chinese has a large number of polysemous words with complex meanings and diverse usages,which has been the focus of many scholars.In the field of teaching Chinese vocabulary as a foreign language,polysemy teaching also plays an important role.Among them,monosyllabic polysemous verbs are more difficult to acquire due to their high frequency of use,richer meanings and more flexible usage.However,they are not paid enough attention in vocabulary teaching,and there is still a large space for research in the aspects of textbook analysis and teaching strategies.Based on the textbook,this paper studies the presentation and arrangement of monosyllabic polysemous verbs and their meanings in Developing Chinese.At the same time,with the help of questionnaires,learners’ acquisition effect on the actual meanings presented in the textbook is investigated.Based on the analysis of the textbook and the results of the questionnaire survey,this paper puts forward more specific suggestions for teachers’ teaching and textbook compilation,in order to improve the teaching quality,help learners to better acquire monosyllabic polysemous verbs,and improve the layout of the textbook to better serve the teaching.This paper consists of six parts:Chapter one is the introduction,which mainly explains the reason for the topic selection and research significance of this paper,sorts out and summarizes the academic research results on polysemous words and monosyllabic polysemous verbs,and introduces the research object and specific research methods adopted in this paper.The second chapter,through sorting and statistics of monosyllabic polysemous verbs in Developing Chinese,finds that their importance in teaching is very prominent,and they are mainly distributed in Primary Synthesis.In addition,the systematic investigation of the presentation of meanings in junior high school textbooks shows that the meanings are very complicated,and it is far from enough to only master the words included in the new words list.Among them,the number of sememe presentation is concentrated in 2 or 3,and the majority of monosyllabic polysemy verbs with more than 50% sememe presentation rate.The third chapter uses the case study method to make a more in-depth multi-angle analysis of the four key monosyllabic polysemous verbs "dǎ,kāi,fàng,fā".In terms of presentation frequency,the meanings of monosyllabic polysemous verbs differ greatly.In terms of collocation form,except for the high frequency sense,the recurrence form of most sense is relatively simple;In terms of meaning category,the textbook does not pay enough attention to the original meaning and basic meaning.In terms of rank distribution,the task of sense acquisition in the primary stage is the most important.In terms of presentation order,combined with the relationship between sense items,it is found that sense items generally follow the order of A and B,then C and D in the textbook,but it is impossible to accurately grasp the extension and development relationship between sense items.In the fourth chapter,questionnaire survey is adopted to investigate the meaning of "dǎ,kāi,fàng,fā" actually presented in the textbook,test learners’ mastery of monosyllabic polysemous verbs and grasp the factors affecting acquisition.According to the survey results,we find that the semantic type and learner’s Chinese level have an impact on the acquisition of monosyllabic polysemous verbs.The fifth chapter puts forward some suggestions from teaching and textbook compilation on the basis of the above research results.For example,when teaching,teachers should be good at making use of the connection between sense items and adopt the sense item correlation teaching;Pay attention to the level difference of learners and carry out phased teaching.In the compilation of textbooks,we should perfect the collection of sense items,improve the sense sorting,reasonable arrangement of recurrence,optimize the exercise setting.In the last part,the main contents and conclusions of this paper are summarized,and the shortcomings of the article are explained.
