Outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic on a global scale forced international cooperative programs among many colleges and universities to shift online. The author was commissioned by Guangxi Arts University to provide interpretation services for one of the courses in the US-China Cooperation Undergraduate Education Program. The course, titled “Film and Television Music appreciation”,began at the end of November 2021 and ended in mid-December.The aim of this course was to help students learn relevant musical terms, understand professional knowledge, and lay a good foundation for their future studies in the United States.Andrew Chesterman proposed his version of translation ethics, namely ethics of representation, ethics of service, ethics of communication,norm-based ethics and ethics of commitment. The ethics above can guide interpreting practice, and interpreters can timely and reasonably adapt interpreting strategies according to these ethics in order to provide better interpreting services to clients. This report analyzes the performance of the author as an interpreter in this course. From the perspective of Chesterman’s translation ethics, the author analyzes his interpreting practice and suggests some interpretation strategies that interpreters can adopt immediately in the face of certain challenges.Having encountered various challenges, the author timely adjusted the interpreting strategies.Through the analysis of specific cases, many adjustments of interpreting strategies can be explained from the perspective of Chesterman’s five models of translation ethics, which can help the author to provide some experience and guidance for future interpreting practice. It is hoped that through the analysis and summary of this interpreting service, this report can provide experience and guidance for his own future interpreting practice and reference for interpreters and researchers who are interested in relevant studies.
