| The past 40 years since reform and opening-up has seen great changes in China’s economic growth and.national strength.In recent years,China has played a more and more active role in international economic activities.With the development of economic globalization,more and more importance has been attached to the significant role of the global economy in both national development and people’s daily life.Meanwhile,business news has become the most common way for people to gain valuable information.Therefore,the translation of business news has been endowed with great significance naturally.During the translation practice assigned by China Daily,one of the largest English portals in China,there are 12 pieces of business news that have been translated and edited from English to Chinese in total.Under the guidance of Eco-translatology,this report analyzes the Chinese translation of English business news based on the concept of selective adaptation and adaptive selection in translation.According to the three important dimensions in Eco-translatology,that is,linguistic dimension,cultural dimension and communicative dimension,this report further identifies the specific adaptation and selection in words,phrases,structure,translation techniques and other aspects of translation cases.The analysis is expected to explore the instructive role of Eco-translatology in guiding English-Chinese translation of business news and to provide more reference for future studies.This report includes five parts.The first part gives a brief introduction to the background,significance and structure of the report.The second part describes the translation task and the features of business news.The third part introduces the theoretical basis of the report and analyzes the source text with the theory as a whole.The fourth part analyzes specific cases during the translation practice from linguistic,cultural and communicative dimensions.The last part is the conclusion of the report,including the major findings,limitations and suggestions for future translation practice. |
