Tsutomu Minakami(1919-2004)was an important novelist and playwright in the history of modern Japanese literature.From the perspective of Tsutomu Minakami’s half-century creative career,he was famous for his popular literary works such as Fog and Shadow,Hungry Straitand so on.However,in 1961,he took the opportunity of the classic masterpiece "Wild Goose Temple",which won the 45th straight wood award,and embarked on the path of pure literary creation.This thesis takes the shift of Tsutomu Minakami’s creation from popular literature to pure literature as the starting point,and probes into the reasons for the shift of Tsutomu Minakami’s creation by focusing on the analysis of hispopular literature creation mode with "sociality" as the core and his pure literature creation style based on "body sense",and on this basis,explains the true meaning of "Tsutomu Minakami’s style"and the significance of Tsutomu Minakami’s creation shift in literary history.This thesis consists of three parts:an introduction,four chaptersand a conclusion.The introduction part introduces the author’s life and creation path,the research status at home and abroad,the research purpose and significance,and the research path and method.The first chapter mainly starts with the concept of intermediate novels,focusing on the description of "sociality" plot and the shaping of the image of the weak criminals in the creation of popular literature by Tsutomu Minakami,and points out that it has formed a popular literary creation mode with "sociality" as the core.The second chapter defines Tsutomu Minakami’s unique style of pure literature creation from three angles,namely,the inward-looking creation theme,the diversified expression techniques and the three-dimensional character image,and points out the differences between it and the mode of popular literature creation.The third chapter analyzes the cause of Tsutomu Minakami’s creative turn from three aspects of individual,society and culture,and points out that it is closely related to the change of Tsutomu Minakami’s living conditions,the social background of the opposition between urban and rural areas,and the call of Japanese traditional local culture.The fourth chapter discusses the significance of his literary history shift from small to large,which is not only a completion of self growth and a rational exploration of self consciousness,but also a valuable reference for the study of the deepening of Japanese literary realism.The conclusion summarizes the full text,points out the shortcomings of this paper,and attempts to propose the significance of this paper in promoting the creative research and overall research of Tsutomu Minakami.
