Research On Digital Illustration Creation Based On Dunhuang "Nirvana Sutra"

As an art handed down in ancient China for thousands of years,Dunhuang murals are artistic treasures of traditional culture.It is also an important symbol for the spread of Chinese culture to the outside world.Dunhuang art has not only produced a number of outstanding artists and works,but also served as a source of inspiration for future generations of artists.At present,the inheritance of traditional culture is prevalent,and in the context of the increasing prosperity of digital illustration technology,Dunhuang-themed digital illustration design is urgent and important.This paper aims to discuss the creation of digital illustrations based on the Dunhuang Nirvana Meridian,and to create illustration works with modern aesthetics through the study of the mural art of the Dunhuang Nirvana Meridian,combined with digital technology.The reasons for the emergence and disappearance of Nirvana meridian murals are analyzed from the aspects of dynastic changes and style changes,and the solution ideas and methods for inheriting and promoting Dunhuang Nirvana culture are put forward in a targeted manner,and illustrations are created with the support of digital technology to achieve the regeneration of new forms of Nirvana meridians.To make up for the lack of this research in the art circles,deepen the research on Dunhuang culture and its related artistic expression techniques,which is closely related to it.This paper is divided into four parts: the first part explains the background and significance of the research,the current research status,the content and methods of the research,and the innovation points of the research.The second part summarizes the history and development of Dunhuang Nirvana meridian murals,artistic characteristics,and the influence of Dunhuang culture on modern illustration creation,and introduces in detail the murals of Dunhuang’s meridian stories.Based on the author’s research,this paper analyzes the relationship between Dunhuang art and illustration art,as well as the integration and innovation,and expounds the combination of Chinese and art of contemporary Dunhuang art.The third part examines the creation of flat style illustrations and analyzes good examples.The fourth part is the exploration and attempt,enlightenment and thinking of the Nirvana Sutra illustration works in the creation process.The analysis and summary of the illustration creation and the display of the works from the aspects of materials,color matching,and expression methods aim to show readers a comprehensive illustration creation process.Finally,the final elaboration is made from the perception and practical application of the creation of the work.This research focuses on the extraction and repainting of the constituent elements of the Dunhuang Nirvana Meridian Mural Painting,as well as the innovation of color matching,style and composition.The extraction of elements is divided into image extraction,color extraction,and connotation extraction.The presentation is in line with modern digital communication methods.The deep artistic ideality in the changing process is presented to form vivid illustration works.The color scheme is appropriately adjusted on the basis of the five colors of Dunhuang,which reduces the conflict between traditional murals and modern illustrations,inherits and carries forward the distinctive characteristics of the color of Dunhuang cave paintings,and gives people a strong visual impact.This design is not only an image reproduction in the mural,but also a multicultural composite in accordance with historical development,using digital form to recreate flat illustrations that meet the current aesthetic needs,communication needs and market needs,and finally produce a complete set of illustration design works and application derivatives,striving to have emotional resonance with the viewer.Combining artistry and practicality,we achieve the purpose of inheriting and carrying forward Dunhuang art and culture through innovation and regeneration.
