With the strengthening of the protection for intangible heritage in the world,the inheritance and development of ethnic minority folk costumes in northeast China has ushered in a new dawn.This article is a Chinese-English report based on the Book Series of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Northeast China——Folk Costumes(Chapter 4)translation practice.The translated text will be used as the publicity reference material of the tourism society,so as to attract more tourists to China to understand the traditional costumes of ethnic minorities.The book describes the category,origin,production process and artistic value of the unique traditional folk costumes of various ethnic groups in Northeast China.The language is simple and easy to understand,with both literary and national color.This report provides a brief description of the English translation practice project of Book Series of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Northeast China——Folk Costumes(excerpts)from the aspects of project background,project tasks and project process.Guided by the theory of Eco-Translatology,translator analyzes the original text from the perspective of "Three-Dimensional Transformation" and selects the corresponding translation.In terms of the dimension of language,the translator adopts translation methods such as literal and liberal to solve problems of vocabulary selection,phonetic adjustment and syntactic integration.In terms of the dimension of culture,the translator adopts domestication and foreignization to solve problems of ecological culture-loaded words,material culture-loaded words and language cultural-loaded words.In terms of the dimension of communication,the translator adopts translation methods such as amplification,omission,adjustment and conversion to solve problems of semantic deformity,redundancy and unclear logic in the original text.This translation practice aims to further explore the application value of Three-Dimensional Transformation in folk costume texts,and to boost the English translation of ethnic minority folk costumes in northeast China.In order to promote the protection of intangible heritage in northeast China,the economic development of ethnic minority people,and the excellent traditional Chinese ethnic minority costume culture to the world.
