The harmonic interval training is one of the very important contents in the harmonic hearing training, and it is the basic link of the harmonic hearing training. The quality of harmonic interval training directly affects the effect of auditory analysis on multi-tone music and multi-tone color. It is an important research field to apply classical instrumental music works to solfeggio ear training so as to better cultivate students’ musical hearing ability and aesthetic ability.Instrumental duet works span various musical periods and are of various types, such as clarinet duet, violin duet, horn duet, etc.Taking instrumental duet works as the training material of harmonic interval can expand the material and training method of harmonic interval training. It not only helps to improve students’ musical hearing ability, but also improves their aesthetic ability. It also enables students to have access to more actual musical works in the harmonic interval training,so as to supplement the existing harmonic interval teaching content, and enable students to have access to more diverse musical materials in the musical hearing training,so as to make the teaching more diverse.Through sorting out and analyzing the concept and classification of intervals,as well as the necessity of harmonic interval training, this paper focuses on the conception of conducting harmonic interval training with duet instrumental works as the carrier in harmonic interval training, and then expounds the importance of choosing duet instrumental works in harmonic interval training. At the same time, the harmonic interval training and the difficulty analysis under the actual sound are discussed.Based on Beethoven’s three Clarinet Bassoon Duets, the author presents the theoretical part of this paper through teaching practice.
