Maurice Ravel was a great French composer of the Impressionist school of music in the late 19 th and early 20 th centuries.His compositions fused the French classical music tradition with the impressionist style,combined with the absorption of musical elements of various nationalities,and formed his own unique musical language.The Tzigane Rhapsody is one of the most important masterpieces of Ravel’s late period,and it has been the reserve of violinists’ concert repertoire since its premiere.This work is based on the Hungarian gypsy folk music style,and through the colorful tonal melody,novel harmonic technique,and splendid violin technique,a vivid picture of the gypsy folk is written for us.The author hopes to provide some new ideas and thoughts for the general performers through the study of the style and performance of this work.This paper will discuss the following parts:The first part,the introduction,mainly describes the research content of domestic and foreign research on the Tzigane Rhapsody and gypsy music.The second part is an introduction to the composer’s life and the background of this work.The third part describes the characteristics of gypsy music style and the elements of gypsy music in this work.The fourth part is the analysis of the gypsy music and the reflection on the performance of this work.
