The Modern Face Of Deng Yizhe’s Calligraphy And Painting Aesthetics

Mr.Deng Yizhe is a famous esthetician and aesthetic historian in modern China.He and Mr.Zong Baihua are known as "South Zong and North Deng".However,Mr.Deng’s research achievements in the field of calligraphy and painting art have not attracted the attention of the academic community like Mr.Zong.Mr.Deng received the influence of traditional Chinese culture and art from an early age,and fully absorbed the western aesthetic thought resources when he grew up,with profound Chinese and Western cultural literacy,which also made Deng Yizhe have unique views on the traditional Chinese calligraphy and painting art and aesthetic category.Therefore,Deng Yizhe’s calligraphy and painting aesthetic thought laid the foundation for the development of modern Chinese aesthetics,and also promoted the process of Chinese aesthetic research from traditional to modern.This article takes Deng Yizhe’s painting and calligraphy aesthetics as the starting point to explore the path of modern transformation of traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy aesthetics.The full text is mainly divided into three parts:The first chapter mainly discusses the western theoretical sources of Deng Yizhe’s calligraphy and painting aesthetics.Deng Yizhe’s many years of overseas study experience made him fully absorb the ideas of western philosophy and aesthetics,which laid a solid foundation for Deng Yizhe to achieve the integration of Chinese and Western thinking when he later studied the traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy art.This article mainly combines German classical aesthetics and intuitionism to explore the influence of western aesthetics on Deng Yizhe’s aesthetic thought,so as to grasp the theoretical basis on which Deng Yizhe made modern transformation of traditional calligraphy and painting aesthetics.The second chapter mainly analyzes how Deng Yizhe transformed the traditional calligraphy and painting aesthetics.This chapter mainly reflects Deng Yizhe’s love for traditional calligraphy and painting art.The good family atmosphere makes him accept the infiltration of traditional Chinese culture from an early age,advocate Confucianism and Taoism,pursue the beauty of nature,and hope that the traditional Chinese calligraphy and painting aesthetics can regain new vitality.Deng Yizhe’s aesthetic thought of calligraphy and painting is to use modern perspective and mode of thinking to rediscover the essence of traditional aesthetic thought of calligraphy and painting,and creatively explain it,so that traditional art has "modern consciousness".The third chapter mainly discusses the modern significance of Deng Yizhe’s painting and calligraphy aesthetics.First,it explores the unique aesthetic theoretical system of "assisting China with the West" from the huge differences between Chinese and Western painting and painting art and its attempt to improve traditional Chinese painting with Western painting,which also makes Chinese traditional painting and calligraphy art have modern consciousness.Secondly,Deng Yizhe devoted himself to the study of calligraphy and painting art after returning to his study,systematically combed the traditional calligraphy and painting art according to the historical development,and stressed that the principle of historical priority should be followed.The painting art should be divided into four stages according to the period: "body consistency","body differentiation","pure form" and "form and meaning integration",and finally summarized as the calligraphy and painting aesthetic theoretical system of "body-form-meaning(reason)" and "vivid-spirit-artistic conception(charm)",Moreover,the application of Western aesthetics to the study of Chinese painting and calligraphy aesthetics began with Mr.Deng,which also shows the indelible theoretical value and practical significance of Deng Yizhe’s painting and calligraphy aesthetics in modern times.
