With the development and popularization of female consciousness in recent years,female growth-themed drama films have attracted more and more attention,mainly reflecting women’s unique life experience,emotional expression and survival status under the patriarchal culture.In order to create better film and television works and understand the real growth of women,film and television practitioners should grasp women themselves.In order to create more three-dimensional rich female roles for the purpose of promoting the development of female growth theme drama,to meet the needs of the audience.Through research and combing,this paper finds that the opportunities for women’s growth are mostly set in the fierce confrontation with men,or only show the dilemma in a certain stage of their life,and the psychological and spiritual changes of women in the dramas are not clearly expressed.Female growth drama films mainly start from the perspective of women,reflecting the psychological and spiritual changes of women,characters from the beginning to the end of the great transformation.The most important thing for female growth is to depict the arc of female characters changing back and forth.Through research,it is found that the arc of female characters is mainly reflected in the four characteristics of concealment,antagonism,dynamic and progressive,so the reflection of female growth mainly reflects the arc construction of female characters from these four aspects.From the concealment construction of character arc,we can start from two aspects of masculine camouflage and self-repression,and male violence and verbal abuse are the main causes of these two aspects.The antagonistic construction of character arc mainly consists of active confrontation and passive confrontation,among which the active confrontation is manifested as the realization of economic independence,the transformation of behavior style and the construction of female subjectivity.These three aspects are also the confrontation from female self,while the passive confrontation,as the confrontation from others,is also presented from three aspects,including: The impact of workplace dilemma,the conflict of family ethics and the stimulation of gender relations,the antagonistic construction of character arc is the key to female growth.In terms of the dynamic and progressive construction of character arcs,the setting of event structure and the psychological transformation of characters are indispensable.In the setting of event structure,the design of dilemma frequency and conflict degree is the main aspect,self-value and emotional needs are also important expressions of the psychological transformation of characters,and the dynamic and progressive construction is an important expression of female growth process.The four characteristics of character arc can perfectly fit with the concept of female growth and fully show the growth of women.Therefore,this paper focuses on the construction of character arc in female growth-themed dramas from the perspective of research and makes a rationalization analysis combined with graduation works,in an attempt to provide diversified references for the design of character arc in female growth-themed dramas at the present stage.
