A Study On The Characterization Of The Elderly Drama Film Li Baoguo And Wang Shuhua From The Perspective Of Narratology

Since its birth and development,narratology has formed many theoretical systems that provide guidance for narrative creation in various disciplines.On the one hand,narratology is the theoretical basis for scholars to analyze and study early narrative activities.On the other hand,it has also become the theoretical guide for narrative creation at present.The practical creation from the perspective of narratology,guided by theoretical knowledge,can better solve the problems encountered in practice.In this creation process of the elderly drama film Li Baoguo and Wang Shuhua,regarding characterization,with reference to the relevant theories of narratology,the relationship between characters and plots and the functional and psychological settings of different characters are explored,as well as the characterization in the elderly drama film with regard to the transmedial turn application in narratology.The paper is divided into five chapters.The first introductory chapter explains the importance of characterization in elderly drama films,the current state of research in narratology,and the importance of using narratology to guide creation practice.The second chapter presents two perspectives on characterization in narratology to provide the main basis for the paper’s research.The third chapter discusses the important role of narratology in the characterization of text creation,the relationship between plots and characters and the basic setting of characters from the perspective of plot and character viewpoints.The fourth chapter explores the important role of narratology in characterization in the visual narration stage from the perspective of transmedial turn in narratology.The fifth chapter concludes that the application of narratology to the characterization in elderly drama films should be accomplished by combining traditional narratology and visual narration.It is necessary to have both theoretical guidance for character setting and visual narration for character presentation and expression.This paper takes the elderly drama film Li Baoguo and Wang Shuhua as the object of study,with narratology as the theoretical support and characterization as the problem orientation,addressing the problems concerning the setting and final presentation of character images in actual creation.
