Translation Techniques For Explicitation Of Infor Mative Texts:A Case Study Of The 14th Five-Year Plan(2021-2025)on The Protection And Development Of Forests And Grasslands(Excerpt)

High-quality land greening is an important support for China’s high-quality development.To build an ecological civilization and beautiful China,and promote the coordinated development of grassland ecological economy and society,it is necessary to conduct in-depth research on major issues related to grassland reform and protection.Therefore,the timely issuance of policy documents on strengthening the development and utilization of grassland resources and ecological protection is very consistent with Xi Jinping’s concept of ecological civilization construction.This report is based on my translation practice during my internship at a translation company,where I got the opportunity to try out for the translation of The 14th Five-Year Plan(2021-2025)on the Protection and Development of Forests and Grasslands(hereinafter referred to as "The Plan")and passed the preliminary examination.In 2021,the State Forestry and Grassland Administration and the National Development and Reform Commission issued The Plan,which emphasizes the importance of practicing Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization and adhering to the philosophy of "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets" and the concept of respecting,following,and protecting nature.The Plan aims to promote the high-quality development of China’s forestry and grassland.Additionally,The Plan also provides a theoretical background for the sustainable development of China’s ecological environment and emphasizes the need for the implementation of a comprehensive and effective ecological protection system.I have encountered many problems in the translation,such as difficulties in translating professional words and searching the official expressions.In this report,I will briefly explain how to use the strategy of "explicitation" in the process of completing translation tasks through specific case analyses.This report will analyze the translation from two aspects,namely,lexical and logical manifestation,and summarize the translation methods.In addition,the translation of The Plan classified as informative text is of great practical significance,which prompts the attention of domestic and foreign societies to the ecological protection issues represented by forest and grass.I was acknowledged by my internship company for translating this source text.I believe that through this translation practice,I will be able to gain a deeper understanding of the nature and techniques of translation,especially when applying the "explicitation" translation method to handle informative texts.I will conduct a detailed analysis and research on specific translation cases in the document,exploring the difficulties and solutions in the translation process.At the same time,I will also explore different "explicitation" translation methods and strategies,as well as how to maintain accuracy and fluency.
