With the expansion of the urban scale, people increasingly rely on transportation, leading to serious contradiction between human and car in the city as well as do a lot of damage to urban landscape and the walking space is seriously occupied. Finally, people’s dominant position in the city space was gradually replaced with transportation. Therefore,it is an important way to improve the vitality and livability of the city to create a human-oriented and fully functional urban walking space.Based on the practical English-Chinese translation texts of Chapters Ⅵ and Ⅶ of Urban Connections in the Contemporary Pedestrian Landscape, and under the guidance of Hu Gengshen’s Eco-translatology,this thesis makes a practical study on the Chinese translation of architectural design texts, and puts forward the specific case analysis based on the principle of "Three-dimensional Transformation" to expand the depth of architectural design texts and provide references with target audiences.Urban Connections in the Contemporary Pedestrian Landscape mainly discusses the great changes in nature and culture of pedestrian landscape with the renewal, iteration and application of design concept and the increase of urban population.Throughout the whole text, there are many professional terms and expressions with the cultural connotation of the source language, long sentences and passive sentences.Besides, the overall language style is plain and the logical cohesion is compact. Therefore, relying on the Eco-translatology theory, the author of this thesis carries out the adaptive selection of the source text and the target text through linguistic dimension, cultural dimension, communicative dimension.Firstly,in terms of linguistic dimension, from the three levels of vocabulary, syntax and discourse, the author adopts translation methods such as free translation, supplementary translation and transformation of the "passive voice” into "active voice",and makes a case study combined with the nature of the text and language style,so that the translation can basically achieve accuracy and fluency.Secondly,in terms of cultural dimension,as the conversion of E-C language actually contains cultural significance, this section focuses on how to preserve the cultural features in the source language and how to adapt to the cultural features of the target language when translating,so as to achieve the adaptive selection of the translation under the cultural dimension.Thirdly,in terms of the communicative dimension, literal translation of some parts of the source text will cause misunderstandings among Chinese audiences,so it is necessary to delete and supplement some information to achieve the adaptability of the translation in the communicative dimension. In conclusion, this thesis chooses Eco-translatology theory as the direction and "Three-dimensional Transformation" as the principle for practice, hoping to more effectively provide information for the target audience participating in urban pedestrian landscape design in China, and to improve the effectiveness of translation information transmission and the acceptability of target audience.
