An Introduction And Analysis On John Naisbitt’s View Of Social History In His Megatrends Theory

As a famous futurist,social observer,and proposer of the theory of megatrends,John Naisbitt combined the problems of the United States,Asia,China,the world,politics,economy,culture,society,females and so on to create his works.The methods of research news holes and on-the-spot investigation were adopted to make the prediction of the megatrends that would change the development of human society.The correct understanding of the international situation and the laws of historical development,the overall grasp of the strategy of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the great changes in the world unseen over the past century,and the deep understanding of the theory and method of Marxist historical materialism can be facilitated by the clarification of the megatrends of the development of human society,so the significant theoretical and practical significance has been reflected.In this thesis,John Naisbitt’s megatrends theory was taken as the central clue.The concepts of information society,megatrends,news holes,high technology and high emotion were summarized.Based on the analysis and research on the social background and theoretical sources proposed by the theory of the megatrends,the Marxist historical materialism was combined to introduce and evaluate the social historical concept in John Naisbitt’s megatrends theory.Six chapters constitute the thesis.In the first chapter as the introduction part,the basis and significance of the topic selection were introduced,the research results at home and abroad were reviewed,the research ideas and methods of this thesis were clarified.In the second chapter,the concepts such as the social historical view,information society,megatrends,news holes,high technology and high emotion were defined,the dialectical materialism,historical materialism,the development dynamics of human society and the basic theory of futurology were briefly introduced.In the third chapter,the social background and theoretical sources of the proposal of the megatrends theory by John Naisbitt was proposed,the relationship among John Naisbitt’s megatrends theory,Fritz Machlup’s thought on knowledge society and Daniel Bell’s post-industrial society theory was clarified,and the specific content of John Naisbitt’s future major trend forecast was introduced.In the fourth chapter,the works of John Naisbitt were taken as the basis,and John Naisbitt’s megatrends theory was elaborated from the four stages of the proposal,enrichment,development and deepening of the megatrends theory.In the fifth chapter,research based on megatrends theory,summarize John Naisbitt social history view from three aspects: John Naisbitt’s research method,core viewpoint and social development view.In the sixth chapter,the Marxist historical materialism view was taken as the guidance and evaluation basis,the social historical concept and social development concept in John Naisbitt’s megatrends theory were reviewed and analyzed,its theoretical achievements and contemporary value were confirmed,and its historical limitations were pointed out.
