Homosexuals identity and emotional state has always been an important subject of homosexuality research.Past studies have found that homosexuals have identity problems and suffer more emotional distress than heterosexuals.Social support has not only been proven to be an effective factor in maintaining the individual’s physical and mental health,but it can also promote the identification of the individual’s role.This research aims to study homosexuals identity and relationship with social support and negative emotions,domestic research on homosexual identity is mostly investigated in the form of qualitative research,because of the high homogeneity of interviewees,the results are open to discussion.This study hopes to explore homosexuals identity through quantitative research methods,and to confirm its influence mechanism in social support and negative emotional relationships.Study one conducted semi-structured interviews with 5 homosexuals to investigate their identity status and the factors affecting identity;Study two used the Lesbian and Gay Identity Scale(LGIS),the Perceived Social Support Scale(PSSS)and the Depression-Anxiety-Stress Scale(DASS-21)as research tools,and266 questionnaires were returned to explore homosexuals,it was intended to explore the relationship between homosexual identity,social support and negative emotions.The main research conclusions are as follows:(1)Homosexuals have identity problems,and their identity is affected by environmental and social support;(2)The social support of homosexuals can positively predict the identity pride dimension of homosexual identity,and negatively predict the negative belief dimension of identity;(3)The identity of homosexuals plays a part of the mediating role in the relationship between social support and negative emotions.
