Due to the need of China's economic development and with the government's vigorous support, China has entered into a great era of entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurs are doomed to experience failures in the process of entrepreneurship. Hence, the research on entrepreneurial failures' psychology is of great importance in helping them response to failure positively. Social comparison is one of man's comparative behaviors to obtain social information. The social comparison of people with experiences in entrepreneurial failure is an important behavior to obtain information after entrepreneurial failure. Therefore, the research on the relationship between entrepreneurial failures' negative emotions and social comparison can help explore entrepreneurs' emotional response and the inner mechanism between their emotional response and social comparison. The existing researches have proved that significant difference exists in individual social comparison orientation and social comparison effect between positive emotions and negative emotions. However, existing researches have contradictive views on the influence of negative emotions on social comparison orientation and social comparison effect. Aiming at the two kinds of emotions, fear and anger, of people with entrepreneurial failure experiences, this paper studies the influence of entrepreneurial failures' negative emotions on social comparison orientation and social comparison effect. In this study, entrepreneurial failures are taken as the subjects. Paper questionnaires are distributed in Zhengzhou and Kaifeng, and electronic questionnaires are aimed at all the entrepreneurial failures in China and are distributed online through entrepreneurship forms or communities, etc. A total of 198 questionnaires are valid. This study adopts statistical methods such as descriptive statistics, variance analysis and correlation analysis. The research results show that the significant negative correlation exists between negative emotions and upward contrast, downward assimilation and downward contrast. The higher scores the subjects get in anger, the lower scores they get in upward contrast, downward assimilation and downward contrast. Entrepreneurial failures with bachelor degree have stronger social comparison orientation than those with junior college degree and those with high school degree or below. The subjects with bachelor degree get significantly higher scores in their ability in social comparison orientation than those junior college degree and those with high school degree or below.
