In recent years,with the gradual popularization of "Chinese hot" and the development of Internet technology,many learners choose to self-study Chinese through online videos.As one of the world’s largest free video sharing websites,You Tube has a large number of videos about Chinese learning on its platform,which makes it a reality that many overseas learners could study Chinese through the Internet.Therefore,in order to further understand and grasp the true feelings and demands of learners,this paper takes Yoyo Chinese,which has been played the most in You Tube language learning channel as an example.Moreover,this paper takes some parts of online reviews in the channel as the research object.Based on the grounded theory,it deeply analyzes the review texts,sums up and constructs the topic model of learner’s comments from a more objective perspective,which is to find out the main factors that affect learners’ studying of Chinese on You Tube.And what’s more,according to the essential elements and problems reflected from these factors,it puts forward some suggestions for later Chinese video production.Through the research of online review texts,we conclude 175 initial categories,which are 175 factors that may affect learners Chinese studying on You Tube,and further summarize these 175 initial categories into 33 main categories.Finally,we conclude 33 main categories into four main categories: the theme model of elements of Chinese learning,the theme model of teachers qualities,the theme model of curriculum designs and productions and the theme model of learner’s own situations,which leads to some problems that include the nonstandard tone teaching,the lack of Chinese example sentences,the lack of Chinese character writing demonstration processes,the unreasonable examples that teachers use,the lack of early agreements on teaching instructions and the lack of the navigation on the course homepage.At the same time,according to the content and shortcomings of the review models,the author also brings up some relevant improvement suggestions from these three aspects: teaching videos(including pronunciation learning videos,grammar learning videos and Chinese character learning videos),the teachers’ qualities and curriculum designs and productions.From the perspective of learners,the author finds and analyzes some online reviews from Yoyo Chinese channel,so as to further understand the real demands of learners,and hopes to provide a reference for the production of Chinese learning videos in the future.
