| Prokofiev’s 1937 piano suite "Romeo and Juliet"(Op.75),which develops both the dramatic content and is full of rich compositional techniques,is a popular favourite and to some extent reflects the composer’s creative style.Its drama has deep intrinsic and social elements,is very unique in its presentation and has had an influence on performance.In this paper,we focus on the causes of the dramaturgy and its specific methods of expression in the context of the piano suite"Romeo and Juliet",and discuss the impact of the dramaturgy on performance.The paper is divided into four parts:I.A brief biography of Prokofiev’s life and a brief description of the background to the composition of "Romeo and Juliet".The analysis of the causes of the drama of"Romeo and Juliet" is divided into two aspects:intrinsic factors and social factors,and the analysis of the factors that produced the drama of this work.The analysis of the dramatic expressions of "Romeo and Juliet" is the focus of this paper,which attempts to summarise the dramatic expressions of the work in terms of intensity,tempo,rhythm,tonality,chords and registers from the musical ontology.The influence of drama on performance style from "Romeo and Juliet" is explored in the context of the period of composition and my own performance experience,in order to explore the influence of drama on performance style in terms of key touch and pedal use. |
