Objective: In recent years, people’s concepts and attitudes towards sex have undergone tremendous changes.Premarital sex, extramarital sex,and recognition of premarital and extramarital sex are also increasing year by year, and the level of acceptance of infidelity such as cheating has increased.Researches mostly focus on the relationship between various personality traits(such as dark triad, big five, etc.)and sociosexual orientation at home and abroad.Considering the differences in "light" and "dark" personality traits, they may influence sociosexual orientation in different ways. From the perspective of light triad and dark triad, this study uses life history strategies as an intermediary to explore the impact of different personality traits on sociosexual orientation. Methods: In order to explore the relationship between dark triad, light triad, life history strategies, and sociosexual orientation, the Revised Sociosexual Orientation Scale(SOI-R),the Light Triad Scale(LTS),the Dirty Dozen(DD)and life history strategy scale(Mini-K)were used to implement strategies for 595 subjects. The data were processed and analyzed by descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test,variance analysis,Pearson correlation analysis, regression analysis, mediation effect test and other statistical methods.Result:(1)The scores of dark triad and sociosexual orientation and its dimensions were significantly higher in men than in women, and the scores for bright triad and life history strategy were not significantly different.(2)Dark triad was significantly positively correlated with sociosexual orientation and its dimensions(p<0.001),and significantly negatively correlated with life history strategies(p<0.001).Light triad was significantly negatively correlated with sociosexual orientation(p<0.01),sociosexual attitude(p<0.001),and significantly positively correlated with life history strategy(p<0.001).Life history strategy was significantly negatively correlated with sociosexual orientation(p<0.05)and sociosexual attitude(p<0.001).(3)Gender has a moderating effect between dark triad and sociosexual orientation(β=-0.08,p<0.05),sociosexual desire(β=-0.09,p<0.05).The moderating effect of gender between dark triad and sociosexual behavior(β=-0.06,p > 0.05),sociosexual attitude(β=-0.03,p>0.05)was not significant.(4)Dark triad positively predicted sociosexual orientation(β=0.240,p<0.001),sociosexual behavior(β=0.173,p<0.001),sociosexual attitude(β=0.182,p<0.001),sociosexual desire(β=0.234,p<0.001).Light triad negatively predicted sociosexual orientation(β=-0.146,p<0.001),sociosexual behavior(β=-0.098,p<0.05),sociosexual attitude(β=-0.171,p<0.001),sociosexual desire(β=-0.099,p<0.01).Life history strategies negatively predicted sociosexual attitude(β=-0.101,p<0.05).(5)The mediating effect of life history strategy between dark triad and sociosexual orientation was significant(β=-0.093,95%CI[0.000,0.043]);the mediating effect of life history strategy between dark triad and sociosexual attitude was significant(β=-0.164,95%CI[0.007,0.053]);The mediating effect of life history strategy between light triad and sociosexual orientation was not significant(β=-0.072,95%CI[-0.104,0.021]);the mediating effect of life history strategy between light triad and sociosexual attitude was significant(β=-0.136,95%CI[-0.121,-0.022]).Conclusion:(1)Gender has a moderating effect between dark triad and sociosexual orientation or sociosexual desire.(2)Dark triad positively predicted sociosexual orientation and its dimensions;light triad negatively predicted sociosexual orientation and its dimensions;life history strategy negatively predicted sociosexual attitude.(3)Life history strategy had a mediating effect between dark triad and sociosexual orientation, sociosexual attitude;Life history strategy had mediating effect between light triad and sociosexual attitude. |
