| As the material shell of a language,phonetics takes a very important role in the second language learning process.Learners could communicate in Chinese in a better level with a good phonetic appearance.Therefore,many scholars now focus on the research of Chinese phonetics teaching.This research explores whether the voice visualization software Praat could be applied in Chinese phonetic teaching to improve the teaching quality and solve some problems caused by online teaching in the post-epidemic era.The result shows that Praat can be used in Chinese phonetic teaching as a tool in many forms.Chinese learners could use its spectrogram as an extra input,as well as exercise their pronunciation with it independently.Furthermore,teachers will improve their own pronunciation during the process of preparing phonetic lessons,besides,teachers can better grasp Chinese learners’ learning condition and give them more appropriate suggestions through the error analysis of their phonetic homework by Praat.This research is divided into five parts.The introduction part mainly states the research background,purpose and significance,as well as the analysis of references.The first chapter is about the theoretical foundation,which analyses the theories supporting the research.The second chapter discusses the general problem of Praat applied in Chinese phonetic teaching,then proposes the solutions for the above problems,and designs the practical teaching procedures.The third chapter studies whether Praat applied to Chinese phonetic teaching has its advantages compared with traditional phonetic teaching,therefore,a control teaching experiment was conducted.The result shows that Praat,as a powerful teaching assistance,can be used as a general tool in Chinese phonetic teaching.Chapter four is the conclusion of this research,which discusses the inspirations from the application of Praat to Chinese phonetic teaching,as well as the deficiencies and reflection of this study. |
