| As a separate edition of Wang Shizhen’s biography,Grand Secretary since Jiajing is of high historical value.Its historical materials come from Ming Dynasty records,private works,family genealogy and other texts.It was copied many times in Ming and Qing Dynasties.Among all the known editions,the Ming manuscript " Grand Secretary since Jiajing" collected in Peking University Library is the earliest one closest to Wang Shizhen’s manuscript.In the process of copying,Grand Secretary since Jiajing can be divided into two periods: the period when Wanli edition was handed down in Ming Dynasty and the period when Jieyueshanfang edition became popular in Qing Dynasty.The documents in various editions of Grand Secretary since Jiajing provide a prerequisite for exploring the evolution of biographical texts.Biography text changes the content of biography because of the position and viewpoint of biographer.Because of Wang Shizhen’s subjective cognition,Grand Secretary since Jiajing made some mistakes in its writing,and because of its own emotional tendency,it had limitations in the selection of historical materials.In the spreading process of Grand Secretary since Jiajing,its biographical text was also adopted by historians of Ming and Qing Dynasties,and based on their own stand and judgment,they constantly chose and reformed the original version of Grand Secretary since Jiajing,thus giving birth to New Biographical text,showing the different praise and criticism tendency of historical biographers to biographers.Influenced by the publisher,the biography text is also constantly modified,creating different images of the biographer between highlighting and concealing.In the process of simultaneous interpreting,the influence of the editor on the first hand is different,resulting in the change of the image of the main characters in different biographies.The appearance of cabinet assistant ministers in Jiajing,Longqing and Wanli period was constructed through the writers,historians and proofreaders’ adoption,addition,modification,inheritance and innovation of the text.It is in the continuous writing and reconstruction that the image of the biographer presented in the biographical text becomes the path to explore the text truth and historical truth. |
