Wang Shizhen was a literary leader in the mid-Ming Dynasty and a very distinctive calligraphy theorist. As a representative of the retro school of the "Later Seven Sons",Wang Shizhen has a very strong pursuit of retro ideas. As a descendant of the Langya Wang family,Wang Shizhen has a great sense of responsibility and mission for calligraphy. For this reason,he has carried out a lot of calligraphy appreciation activities and written his ancient calligraphy theories. Most of the calligraphy and literary theories that contain his ancient thoughts are summarized in the book "Yiyuanzhiyan".Through the analysis and interpretation of "Yiyuanzhiyan",this paper believes that Wang Shizhen’s calligraphy theory advocates "Wei-Jin ancient elegance",which comes from various factors such as Wang’s family tradition and Wumen’s influence, lacks the awareness of resistance and innovation, and is close to Pure nostalgia;literary theory advocates that "literature must be in the Qin and Han Dynasties, poetry must be in the Tang Dynasty",mainly derived from the theory of Li Panlong and the "former seven sons",writing literary theory with the mentality of "becoming a family" has a strong Rebellious spirit.
