With the continuous growth of the social economy, the pressure of competition among enterprises has also increased, resulting in employees being subjected to increasing work stress and often experiencing work fatigue and lack of energy. In order to alleviate this pressure and enable employees to quickly recover their psychological resources, scholars began to carry out intervention research on work recovery. However, most of these interventions stay in non-working hours and non-working places. With the continuous extension of working hours,out-of-work recovery activities pose a great challenge to employees’ work recovery,so scholars extend the research of work recovery to working hours, also known as inter-work microbreak.Previous studies have proved that inter-work microbreak can help employees recover their psychological resources in a short period of time between work, but only at the level of time control of microbreak, generalization and classification of the types of activities that have already existed, and the interaction effect of break time and type of break activity, which is lack of innovative interventions for more efficient work recovery strategies. The Ipswich Microbreak Technique(IMT)is a structured neck and shoulder exercise. As a microbreak strategy,it has been proven that it can effectively alleviate and delay the neck and shoulder pain caused by working under a microscope for long periods of time, but research on its effect only stays at the physiological level. Some studies have shown that specific physical exercise as a microbreak strategy can improve employees’ experience of control, thus having a positive impact on psychological state. Therefore, this study believes that IMT,as a special way of physical exercise, can help employees recover their psychological resources.IMT mainly focuses on alleviating fatigue, but employees lose a lot of attention resources in their daily work.Previous studies have proved that mindfulness can improve the individual’s attention resources and is positively correlated with the successful recovery of the individual. As one of mindfulness training techniques, body scanning can be used as an aid of IMT to strengthen the subjects’ attention to their body, improving the experience of psychological detachment and relaxation, and then make the recovery of both physical and mental state better, especially in the aspect of attention resources. In this study,a randomized controlled trial design was adopted to select two interwork microbreak strategies,IMT(group 1)and IMT combined with body scanning technology(group 2),to verify and compare their effectiveness on psychological resource recovery and to design a micro-break strategy applicable to domestic organizational context. The results show that both experimental group 1 and experimental group 2 can make the psychological resources of employees return to the baseline level. The recovery effect of experimental group 1 on fatigue is significant, while the recovery effect of experimental group 2 on fatigue and attention resources is significant. The control group could not return to the baseline level.
