Situational Teaching(ST)is widely used in the field of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language(TCFL).It can help students better understand Chinese knowledge,master Chinese pragmatic strategies and improve their Chinese communicative ability.However,there are also some challenges,such as:it is not possible to reproduce Chinese social and cultural contexts in the non-target language social environment.Research shows that the application of VR(Virtual Reality)games in second language teaching and learning can restore the social and cultural environment of the target language to some extent,construct meaningful situations,help second language learners learn the target language in the target language situation,and stimulate learners’ learning motivation and interest.But related research is still relatively scarce,and most of the research is on the overall impact of VR games on Chinese second language acquisition and TCFL,especially less on the ST of Chinese as a Foreign Language(CFL)based on VR games.Therefore,this thesis puts forward the conception of ST of CFL based on VR games,aiming to provide reference ideas for solving the important challenges faced by ST of CFL,in order to contribute to the exploration and development of related research fields.Adopted a literature-based analysis method,this study aims to explore how to effectively carry out ST of CFL based on VR games in TCFL.This thesis argues that VR games have strong potential in ST of CFL from the perspective of Constructivist Learning Theory,Situational Cognition Theory and Community of Practice Theory.This thesis also points out that the ST of CFL based on VR games should follow the principles of situation construction,including story,challenge,time,entertainment and culture.Finally,this thesis puts forward a design conception of VR game suitable for ST of CFL.This study is a bold exploration of the role of VR technology in ST of CFL,it is helpful for us to understand the basic principles and application methods of VR games in ST of CFL.Therefore,this thesis has certain theoretical and practical significance,as well as innovative value.
