| About 400 pieces(sets)of jade ware were found in the tomb of Marquis Haihun.This paper selects three pieces of the She-shapedjade pendantsunearthed from the tomb of Marquis Haihun Liu He and one piece of the She-shapedjade pendant unearthed from the tomb of LiuChongguo,the son of Liu He,to make a detailed interpretation from the aspects of material,shape,decoration,technology,function and cultural connotation.They are made of Hetian jade and limestone.The body is oval and flat with round through holes.The carved patterns around the body are dragon,Phoenix,dragon and cloud.The carved animal patterns occupy the outer space of the She-shapedjade pendants,which makes the the She-shapedjade pendants full and harmonious.The technology of slicing,shaping,pipe drilling,wire drawing,undercutting,grinding and polishing is complex.According to the analysis of the shape and unearthed position,it is believed that they were worn by Liu He and Liu Chongguo.It is speculated that theShe-shapedjade pendants may have been made by Shangfang,and Liu He took it out of the Royal treasure house of the Han Dynasty as his own ornament.Through the comparative analysis of the She-shapedjade pendants of Haihun Marquis and the She-shapedjade pendants unearthed from other representative tombs of the Western Han Dynasty,it is considered that there may be the use of the quantity and decoration of the She-shapedjade pendants to distinguish the class of the royal tomb owners in the Western Han Dynasty.This paper also analyzes the Western Han Dynasty’s popular custom of jade worship,luxurious burials,stable and rich economic strength,developed handicraft industry,the idea of "harmony between man and nature". |
