| ObjectiveTo observe the clinical efficacy of fumigation with Shujinxi external Granule combined with stretching training in the treatment of metatarsal fasciitis.MethodsNinety patients who were seen in the orthopedic outpatient clinic of Foshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from December 2021 to December 2022 and met the diagnostic criteria of metatarsal fasciitis were included. After signing the relevant informed consent forms, the patients were divided into the Shujinxi external Granule fumigation group, the stretching training group and the Shujinxi external Granule combined with stretching training group according to the random number method, and the final number of cases included in all three groups was 32(n=32).The fumigation group was treated with fumigation with Shujinxi external Granule(fumigation treatment once a day, each fumigation time 20 min),the stretching training group was treated with stretching training(plantar fascia stretch and achilles tendon stretch are included, each stretch lasted 10 seconds,10 times as one set, three sets per day),and the Shujinxi external Granule combined with stretching training group was treated with stretching training on the basis of Shujinxi external Granule(stretching training was arranged after the Chinese medicine fumigation treatment). The treatment period of all three groups was6 weeks. The Foot Function Index,Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)and Self-rating anxiety scale(SAS)were used to evaluate the patients before and after the treatment. The collected data were imported into Excel 2021 for summary and collation, and SPSS 26 software was used for statistical analysis.ResultsBefore treatment, the differences in baseline information(age, height, and gender)and FFI scores,VAS scores, and SAS scores among the three groups were not statistically significant,(P > 0.05)and comparable. The patients in the three groups were treated with corresponding treatments, and after 6 weeks, there were different degrees of improvement in the FFI score,VAS score and SAS score, among which the differences between the Shuji Wash external pellets fumigation group and the stretching training group were not statistically significant(P > 0.05),and the Shujinxi external Granule combined with stretching training group showed more significant improvement than the Shujinxi external Granule fumigation group and the stretching training group(P <0.05).In terms of clinical efficacy, the Shujinxi external Granule fumigation group was cured in 4 cases, showed efficacy in 6 cases, was effective in 7 cases, and was ineffective in 13 cases, with a total effective rate of 56.67%,while the stretching training group was cured in 5 cases, showed efficacy in 5 cases, was effective in 5 cases, and was ineffective in 12 cases, with a total effective rate of 60.00%.the Shujinxi external Granule combined with stretching training group was cured in 6 cases, showed efficacy in 11 cases, was effective in 9 cases, and was ineffective in 4 cases, with a total effective rate of 86.67%.ConclusionBoth fumigation with Shujinxi external Granule and stretching training can reduce pain and improve foot function in patients with plantar fasciitis, and the efficacy of both methods is comparable. The combination of fumigation with Shujinxi external Granule and stretching exercise can more effectively reduce pain and improve foot function to relieve anxiety.Shujinxi external Granule fumigation and stretching exercise are effective in the treatment of metatarsal fasciitis, with few adverse effects, safe and easy to implement, and can significantly improve patients’ pain and anxiety symptoms to restore function, which is worth promoting in the clinical application. |
