A Study On The Clinical Efficacy Of Massage In The Treatment Of Adenoid Hypertrophy In Children

Objective: By observing and evaluating the differences mainly including the symptom improvement and efficacy difference of tuina and drug therapy in children who have the disease named adenoid hypertrophy,we can achieve a better therapeutic regimen in that way.We use many testing methods including the index changes of main clinical symptom score,quality of life score,X-Ray nasopharynx lateral view and hypopnea index(AHI)to observe the curative effect before and after the one-month tuina or drug therapy,which would show whether tuina or drug would achieve a better clinical effect on adenoid hypertrophy in children.Method: We randomly divided 60 children with adenoid hypertrophy meeting inclusion criteria into two groups: one is tuina therapy group which includes 30 cases who would be treated with tuina alone in points selected by research group,15-20 minutes each time,3 times 1 week,1 course of 4 weeks once every other day.The other group is drug therapy group which includes 30 cases who would be treated with 0.05% mometasone furoate nasal spray in bilateral nostrils,1 spray every time,1 course of 4 weeks once a day.Testing methods like main clinical symptom score,quality of life score,X-Ray nasopharynx lateral view and hypopnea index were used as clinical observation index,which were taken before and after the therapy,and the changes in symptoms,imaging and index of nasal ventilation would be recorded and compared.These data would help us to draw a more objective conclusion.Result: 1.Analyzing the baseline data of the two groups,we can achieve the following conclutions: A total of 60 children with adenoid hypertrophy were observed in this study,and the gender comparison was made between the two groups which showed that there was no difference in gender distribution between the two groups,so it could be considered that the two groups were comparable(P>0.05).The age comparison of the two groups showed that there was no difference in age between the two groups,so it could be considered that the two groups were comparable(P>0.05).The comparison of disease course between the two groups showed that there was no significant difference in the course of disease between the two groups,so it could be considered that the two groups were comparable(P>0.05).2.Though the one-month therapy,we can achieve the following conclutions.Effective rate in tuina therapy group was 90% while in drug therapy group was 67%(P<0.05),which indicated that the difference between tuina therapy group and durg therapy group was significant,and the effect of the tuina therapy group was much better than drug therapy group.3.Intra-group difference of clinical symptom scores,before and after treatment,in both tuina therapy group and durg therapy group was statwastically significant(P<0.05).But the difference,before and after treatment,between tuina therapy group and durg therapy group was not significant(P>0.05).4.Intra-group difference of life quality scores,before and after treatment,in tuina therapy group and durg therapy group was statwastically significant(P<0.05).And the difference,before and after treatment,between tuina therapy group and durg therapy group was also statwastically significant(P<0.05),which showed that the effect of tuina therapy group was better than drug therapy group.5.Intra-group difference of(A/N)ratio in X-Ray nasopharynx lateral view,before and after treatment,in neither tuina therapy group nor drug therapy group was not statwastically significant(P>0.05).6.Intra-group difference of hypopnea indexes,before and after treatment,in tuina therapy group and durg therapy group was statwastically significant(P<0.05).And the difference,before and after treatment,between tuina therapy group and durg therapy group(P<0.05)was statwastically significant,which showed that tuina therapy group had a better effect on the adenoidal hypertrophy than drug therapy group.Conclusion: 1.Tuina therapy has a good effect in the treatment of the children with adenoid hypertrophy,and after the one-month treatment,the symptoms and signs of the children were significantly improved.2.Tuina therapy can relieve clinical symptoms by improving ventilation in children with adenoid hypertrophy.3.Tuina therapy can alleviate the clinical symptoms and signs of children with adenoid hypertrophy,as well as mental problems.Tuina therapy can effectively adjust the physical and mental status of children and their parents,and play an importent role in the harmony of body and mind at the same time.
