Purpose(1)Develop the scale of nurses’ moral commitment,To provide a measuring tool for evaluating the moral commitment of nurses.(2)The formal scale was applied to investigate the current situation of nurses’ moral commitment and its influencing factors, and the relationship between nurses’ moral commitment and nurses’ satisfaction was explored,so as to provide a basis for formulating targeted intervention measures of nurses’ moral commitment.Method(1)Formation of the initial scale: Conduct semi-structured interviews with nurses based on literature review, and refer to existing moral commitment assessment tools to form an initial item pool of the scale.By Delphi expert letter consultation method,15 experts from Jiangsu,Anhui and Shanghai were selected to conduct two rounds of letter consultation on the scale, and the items of the scale were modified by referring to the expert opinions to form the preliminary evaluation scale.(2)Formation of formal scale: 200 nurses were selected from July to August 2022 to investigate the initial scale;Item analysis deletes scale items, and exploratory factor analysis determines scale dimensions. From October to November 2022,385 nurses from four hospitals in Shanghai were investigated.Reliability test and confirmative factor test were used to form a formal scale.(3)Survey application of the scale: A total of 390 nurses from four hospitals in Shanghai were surveyed in January 2023 by convenience sampling method and nurses’ general information questionnaire, nurses’ moral Commitment Scale and Chinese version of nurses’ job satisfaction Scale. The status quo of nurses’ moral commitment and job satisfaction was analyzed descriptively.Pearson correlation analysis was used to explore the relationship between nurses’ moral commitment and job satisfaction. The factors influencing nurses’ moral commitment were analyzed and studied by means of multiple linear regression.Results(1)By searching a large number of literatures, combining the semi-open interview results and referring to the existing moral commitment scale of foreign countries,an entry pool of 38 items of the moral commitment scale for nurses was constructed. The semi-structured interview extracted four themes: fairness, information and privacy;Interest, emotion. After two rounds of expert correspondence,an initial scale containing 35 items was formed.(2)There are 3 items in the item analysis of the preliminary scale that do not meet the indicators,so they are deleted.Reliability analysis results: The Cronbach’s α coefficients of the subscales of four dimensions were 0.805-0.901 after the deletion of items in item analysis.Exploratory factor analysis results: principal component analysis was set, maximum variance method was used to rotate, and common factors with eigenvalues greater than 1 were extracted for repeated exploration and analysis. Finally,a 4-factor structure was obtained, and the four factors could explain 63.36% of the total variation.Cronbach’s α coefficients of the four subscales were 0.805-0.901 after item analysis, and the results of confirmatory factor analysis were: 1<x2 /df<3.RMSEA0.056;CFI0.918.(3)Scale application: The average score of the moral commitment scale for nurses was(15.12+1.719).There were statistically significant differences among the total groups of the job satisfaction scale for nurses of different nursing ages and different hospital grades(P<0.05).There was a positive correlation between the moral commitment scale and the total score of job satisfaction. Both welfare and shift scheduling were independent influencing factors of nurses’ moral commitment scale(P<0.05).Conclusion(1)The indexes of the scale of moral commitment for nurses prepared in this study meet the requirements of the scale, and can be used as an evaluation tool of moral commitment for nurses.(2)Through the scale survey,it was found that the average score of the scale of nurses’ moral commitment was above the average level.According to the rationalization of welfare benefits and scheduling as influencing factors of nurses’ moral commitment, nursing managers can evaluate and construct intervention programs that meet the real needs of nurses through this scale,so as to further improve the level of nurses’ moral commitment.
