Objective:This subject was selected with Ciliao acupoints to stimulate, for those patients with primary dysmenorrhea(PD)as the research object, according to the clinical practice guide of evidence-based acupuncture and moxibustion: primary dysmenorrhea.Compared the changes of dysmenorrhea symptom score, visual analogue score(VAS)and serum estradiol(E2)before and after premenstrual transcutaneous acupoint electrical stimulation(TEAS)and acupuncture treatment, then evaluated their clinical effects comprehensively. So as to find a painless, safe and acceptable prophylactic treatment for patients with PD patients.Methods:70 patients with PD were randomly divided into observation group(n = 35)and control group(n = 35).Among them,66 cases were actually included due to the shedding and elimination of cases, including 34 cases in the observation group and 32 cases in the control group. The observation group was treated with TEAS dense wave(2/100Hz),and the control group was treated with common acupuncture. Both groups were taken with bilateral Ciliao acupoints, from 5 days to 1 day before menstruation, once a day,5 times per menstruation cycle,3menstrual cycles as a course of treatment,a total of 15 times. Both groups were been keeping for 30 minutes each time. The curative effect was evaluated after 1 course of treatment. The changes of dysmenorrhea symptom score,VAS score and serum E2 in mid-luteal phase(6days before menstruation)were observed before and after treatment. Results SPSS23.0 was used to analyze the results.Results:1.Clinical efficacy: both groups have clinical efficacy,in which the total effective rate of the observation group is 88.24%,the total effective rate of the control group is 90.63%,the statistics are similar(P>0.05).2.Dysmenorrhea symptom score and VAS score: the dysmenorrhea symptom score and VAS score of the two groups decreased significantly after treatment, which was significantly different from those before treatment(P<0.01),therefore,both TEAS and acupuncture have good therapeutic effects on PD.There was no significant difference between dysmenorrhea symptom score and VAS score within the two groups before and after treatment, which indicated that TEAS was similar to acupuncture in improving dysmenorrhea symptom score and VAS score.3.Serum E2: the serum E2 of the two groups decreased significantly after treatment, which was significantly different from those before treatment, therefore, both TEAS and acupuncture can regulate the level of serum E2 of patients with PD.There was no significant difference in serum E2 level between the two groups before and after treatment, which indicated that TEAS and acupuncture had the same effect on regulating serum E2 level in mid-luteal phase of PD patients.Conclusions:1.Both TEAS and general acupuncture can reduce the dysmenorrhea symptom score and VAS score of patients with primary dysmenorrhea, and their short-term effects are similar.2.Both TEAS and general acupuncture can regulate the level of serum estradiol in mid-luteal phase of patients with primary dysmenorrhea, and their effects are similar.3.Compared with acupuncture,TEAS has the advantages of non-invasive and painless,so it can be considered as one of the alternative treatments of acupuncture for the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea.
