Objective To investigate on the status quo of fear of cancer recurrence among patients after oral cancer surgery,analyze the influencing factors,to provide a basis for guiding patients after oral cancer surgery,and to formulate intervention measures.Methods By convenient sampling method,select 326 patients after oral cancer surgery as the research object,using general data questionnaire,Fear of Cancer Recurrence Inventory-Chinese Version,Perceived Social Support Scale,Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire,the status and influencing factors of fear of cancer recurrence after oral cancer were analyzed using SPSS23.0 statistical software,and the mediation effect was tested by Bootstrap method.Results(1)The total socers of fear of cancer recurrence after oral cancer,Perceived social support,Illness perception were(95.22±14.71),(44.39±12.75),(46.09±11.69).(2)Univariate analysis showed that the cancer recurrence fear score after oral cancer surgery was significantly different in age,marriage,children,occupation,average monthly family income,incidence site,and surgery mode(P<0.05).(3)The total score of Perceived social support,within-family support dimension,and extra-family support dimension were negatively correlated with cancer recurrence fear score(r=-0.776,r=-0.797,r=-0.539,P<0.01);Illness perception was positively associated with cancer recurrence fear score(r=0.841,P<0.01).(4)Age,marriage,average monthly family income,surgery method,Perceived social support,and Illness perception are the factors influencing the fear of cancer recurrence in patients after oral cancer surgery(P <0.05).(5)The mediation effect test showed that Perceived social support plays a partially mediating role between Illness perception and fear of cancer recurrence,and the intermediary effect accounted for 30.78%.Conclusion(1)The fear of cancer recurrence after oral cancer surgery is at a high level,so medical staff should pay attention to it.(2)the fear of cancer recurrence after oral cancer surgery influenced by age,marriage,monthly family income,surgery,illness perception and perceived social support.(3)Illness perception can directly affect the fear of cancer recurrence,and perceived social support can indirectly affect the fear of cancer recurrence,perceived social support plays a partial mediating role between illness perception and the fear of cancer recurrence.Clinical staff should pay attention to the fear of cancer recurrence after oral cancer surgery,strengthen health education,improve patients’ understanding of social support,correctly view the disease,and maintain a good disease perception,so as to reduce the fear level of cancer recurrence in patients after oral cancer surgery.
